Taxation kills an unproductive population and snuff out their economic life. Don't worry unease lies the head that always wear the crown. When your push people to the wall, you brings out the beast in them. |

I like and support this tax stuff. The illiterates who know no direction will surely understand when money leaves their account at the end of the year. If one doesn't learn through the normal way, s/he will learn the hard way. When you pay tax regularly, you will understand why you need to hold your LG chairman accountable. Abeg make we dey pay 50% tax. E go reduce tribalism |

There are a lot of ‘not so smart’ people in Nigeria. People who would rather get information on the new tax regime from street vendors than from the person who put the whole thing together. Currently if you earn #100,000 a month and pay %15 in taxes, you pay #15,000 taxes. With the new regime, the first #66,000 is untaxed. You pay 15% on #34,000. Which means anyone earning #66,000 and below is totally exempted from paying tax. Majority of people currently paying tax will see a reduction in what they pay. This man has been going from one station to the other telling you the fact about the tax regime but you will rather watch sabinus with your time and get tax info from the pepper seller down the street. |

LegendHero:Some things BAT is bold about. Some things, the FG dilly-dallys and policy somersaults about. Which are for national interest and which are for personal interest? Is the real question to be answered. |

Kukutente23:Nigerians don't like paying tax. Again it's part of human nature. Very few like to part with anything. Generally people don't like taxation. That's why tax masters are hated. Remember the publicans in the Bible. |

This was Taiwo in 2020, speaking against excessive taxation when he wasn’t in government. Today, he’s heading Tinubu’s tax team, championing policies that will further suffocate ordinary Nigerians. It’s funny how principles suddenly change once power is involved. Has he forgotten that no government has ever become wealthy by taxing poverty? You can’t milk an empty cow and expect prosperity. This is the very definition of double standards
