Random post: I have a bit of time on my hands so lemme continue my thoughts on kpop agencies in 2025

JYP

Sooooo I feel like instead of impressing musically, JYP artists are impressing based on just being themselves. Stray kids have a massive fanbase, even if they release rubbish they'll sell. Twice is already 10 years in the industry and I'm not even joking when I say they're as loved as girls generation. Itzy continues to have a huge fanbase especially with the younger generation. Day6 continues to be huge for Korean rock fans. As for the newer less popular groups, they're doing well but they still have room to grow. Groups like xtraordinary heroes, nmixx or whatever they're now called. Kickflip is also releasing good music but I think they lost the potential they could have had to really explode when jyp left them in his dungeon for years after loud ended🙄 I did notice that JYP seems to have stopped writing songs for his artists. They now mostly use in house songwriters. He's a piece of work but I'll miss his touch cos some of his songs actually had soul🤣

STARSHIP

Starship continues to do their focus on one artist but absolutely dominate thingy lol. Ive is that artist for now and the girls are big. They've delivered solid music and now even if they sing ABCD, the Korean public will eat it up. They also debuted 2 new groups this year and they're actually pretty decent and have seen some amount of success. I just wonder if they're about to dump ive and focus on the new babies cos one thing about starship, they cannot multitask 🤣 monstax had a reunion so I guess their fans are happy. Cravity also released good music but as usual the promotion wasn't really great. The people who are not getting any love at all from starship tho is cosmic girls and I still can't understand why they are relegated to the background. I mean they've not had a comeback in 3 years! Even boy groups that enlist in the military don't stay inactive for that long. They have such a solid discography and talent but starship just dumped them for ive. Ironically one of starship 's biggest album sales for the year came from cosmic girls dayoung's solo and she didn't even get any promotion from them

THE BLACK LABEL

I've always grouped them under YG but this year was such a good year for them that I think they can stand on their own. First they took Rose from YG and Apt alone is enough success, talk more of all her other achievements. Then they debuted all day project and they are an instant hit. There's a lot of controversy surrounding the group but they're still very relevant especially for a rookie group. Meow or whatever is also very famous among the younger generation. If they can maintain this momentum, I definitely see them doing better than their parent company YG. The one downside they have is jeon somi. I swear they don't know what to do with that girl and it's baffling. She has everything it takes to be a proper pop princess but they keep saddling her with blackpink rejects and even her comebacks are very infrequent.

CUBE

Currently cube has just 2 artists under them (very weird) gidle and nowz. Gidle continues to be insanely popular but I don't think their music did that well on the charts this year compared to previous years and nowz is finally beginning to release good music. If they're going to promote them well, I think they should just remain with their 2 artists lol

FNC

Continues to prioritize rock bands and actually did a good job of promoting the new Korean rock band. I wish they would do the same with the Japanese band but whatever. Cnblue continues to make money touring and their 10th album actually generated sales. Ft island members continue to enter trouble so it's like they can't even take advantage of the promotion they get. I still don't know why nflying isn't bigger than they are right now. They do everything right 🤷 on the dance group side. They no longer have any girl groups 🙄 p1harmony continues to be their biggest money maker even though I did not like most of what they released this year 😩 but they still manage to get fans especially from English speaking countries. Sf9 members are in that enlistment stage so they aren't doing as much but still fnc seems to not be doing anything for them. We still don't know why zuho was kicked out and you'd think they'd use this period to get chani more drama roles but no just wasting these boys tsk tsk. At least ampersandone is getting promotion and making good sales even though I think their music is pretty generic

KQ

They have only 2 groups. Ateez and xikers. Ateez focused more on touring this year. Their music quality keeps getting better so I'm impressed. Xikers also has good music but unfortunately they haven't seen massive success yet. Hopefully they will someday.

MYSTIC STORY

I swear I always forget them. I don't have much to say. Lucy continues to deliver good rock music and they have their fanbase. Billie is doing alright I guess. They have one more group but I swear I can't even remember their name now. Lol modified: went to Google ARrc lol I don't even think I know what their song sounds like (I should try to listen to them maybe later today)

RBW

Urghhhh they used to do so good but I guess their CEO being best friends with fnc's CEO is influencing him. First of all he bought dsp and wm but isn't really doing much for their artists. Kard is well.. forgotten now that all day project has taken over the coed scene, oh my girl and b1a4 released nothing 🤷 their biggest group mamamoo released nothing plus hwasa who saw solo success this year is basically no longer under the agency. Onewe, oneus, onf bleh bleh bleh promotions. At this point, be like say na Dem dey carry last o. At least they have young posse but young posse's genre is very niche and not for everyone so I don't know if they're ever going to get massive except if they switch styles which I don't see happening anytime soon

WAKEONE

Aka cheaty cheaty agency lol. Well zerobaseone is ending soon. All drive one will take over. As long as they continue to be in the charge of the boys/girls planet franchise, they'll always make money. The endeu.

WOOLIM

Nope this is actually the worst agency. Did nothing with golden child, did nothing with drippin. Managed to give Kwon eunbi a comeback. I honestly think they should just close down the company tbh

Lol so yesterday I saw news that im si wan and Seol in ah were cast in a drama and for some reason, I thought I read im si wan and seolhyun lol. I was like oh they're acting together again and I haven't even seen their summer drama yet, I'll pass. Today I saw the news again and saw it was seol in ah lol so of course I'm in. I can't wait and apparently her character goes undercover as a guy. Lol are we back to cross dressing drama era. I just hope the story will be nice

Not my queen Jang nara being the villain of this week's taxi driver 3. I love it. I don't think I've ever seen her play a villainous role. Lol what was that wig on Lee je hoon's head🤣

I think I'm going to pause on watching love me. I have a feeling I'll enjoy binge-ing it more than watching it weekly so I'll drop it for now and maybe pick it up after it finishes airing

Idol I is here tbh I'm happy and glad that the ratings seem to be doing well cos as far as I'm concerned, it's a just there drama. I mean it's not boring or anything but it's pretty cliche and predictable. I don't know but it seems the quality of ENA dramas keep going down. They started so well with extraordinary attorney woo and released a lot of solid dramas, I'm not 100% sure but I feel like every drama they've aired since brewing love have been sorta bleh or cliche. I really hope they can go back to their glory days lol they were fast becoming one of my favorite channels. Anyway, storyline is ok, cast are my faves, I'll enjoy this one while it lasts.

Happy birthday to do sang woo oppa. He's so hot and talented and he's been in the industry for a while. I still don't know how he hasn't managed to get lead roles

I did really miss it. Wedding of the year 2025. What do you think?

Christmas festivities took over. I literally had zero time to watch my dramas and shows but I still managed to watch cashero. Now I watched up to episode 4 and skipped through the rest just cos I really had to multitask a lot so my thoughts might not be accurate but I actually liked the drama. I mean for a superhero comedy drama, it's not the greatest but it had a lot of good things going for it. The cast is fantastic. Lee junho is such a good actor. I liked the drama humor especially his narrations. I love how his superpower is related to money cos it's actually very relatable to human life because truly if you're poor, do you have any power? Lol I love the names of the villain siblings jo Anna and Jo Nathan and it could also pass for Joanna and Jonathan lol. Thank God it's just 8 episodes but 6 should have been sufficient. At least it wasn't dragged out to 12 episodes. I hope someday I'll be able to make time to watch it properly.

I couldn't even be bothered to watch the last 2 episodes of dynamite kiss. I skipped through the whole thing. I swear some writers deserve to be arrested cos how do you start a drama so good and then halfway your writing turns garbage. There's the yeye breakup, her running away, him going to find her, they even brought in amnesia trope eww my goodness lol. At least I enjoyed kwak si Yang's cameo. I skipped so much, I don't even know what happened to the 2nd leads and I'm honestly not even interested. They really shouldn't have made his sister and her ex such villains. I think that might have saved the drama. Some of these writers need to realize we're over the chaebol siblings hating each other trope🙄 just look at Cinderella at 2am, the drama might not be the best but the fact that the siblings were so close was such a fresh take that a lot of people stayed with that drama just for that dynamic. These writers need to do better and stop giving talented actors and actresses rubbish storylines
