Bandits Kidnap 5 Travellers Along Ogbe-Egbe Road, One Other Injured by treesun(op): 10:41pm On Dec 26, 2025

Tension is high in Ogbe and its surrounding communities following a fresh attack by bandits along the Ogbe–Egbe axis on Friday.

Reports indicate that the incident occurred as some residents were travelling from Ogbe to Egbe to attend a wedding ceremony of an Ogbe indigene based in Egbe.

During the journey, the group was ambushed by armed assailants at the boundary area between Ogbe and Koro.

One person was reportedly shot during the attack and has been rushed to an undisclosed hospital for medical treatment. Five others were abducted by the attackers and taken into the bush.

Residents have once again raised concerns over the persistent insecurity along rural roads in the area, calling on relevant authorities to urgently strengthen security patrols to prevent further attacks.

“A total of 16 GPS-guided precision munitions were deployed using MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial platforms, successfully neutralising the targeted ISIS elements attempting to penetrate Nigeria from the Sahel corridor.

“During the course of the operation, debris from expended munitions fell in Jabo, Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State, and in Offa, Kwara State, near the premises of a hotel.

Now is not a time to travel around Nigeria any how. Restrict some movement, Especially in the northern part of Nigeria

Those who want to wed can do so with their immediate families, nobody should risk his/her life in a long distance journey just to attend wedding ceremony
