Terrorists Storm Kwara Community After Christmas Celebration, Abduct Seven Residents, Injure Others

Terrorists suspected to be bandits on Friday evening invaded Adanla community in Igbaja Ward 2, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, abducting seven residents and injuring several others, just a day after Christmas.

A source told SaharaReporters that the attack occurred on Friday at about 7pm, throwing the usually peaceful community into panic, grief and mourning.

According to the source, the armed men stormed the community in large numbers, firing sporadically as they forcefully entered homes and carted away victims.

“Today, 26 December 2025, at about 7:30pm, Adanla, Igbaja Ward 2, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State was invaded by bandits. Our peaceful community is in deep sorrow, grief and agony,” the source said.

The attackers reportedly kidnapped seven people during the raid, while several others sustained gunshot injuries.

The source told SaharaReporters that a young girl was said to have been seriously wounded and is currently battling for her life.

They invaded our homes during this festive season and forcibly kidnapped seven people, injuring several others. They fired several gunshots, and seven of our family members are now in the den of these heartless criminals,” the source added.

Residents described the incident as devastating, noting that families have been left shattered, with fear and uncertainty gripping the community.

As of the time of filing this report, it remains unclear whether security operatives have launched a rescue operation or if any arrests have been made.

Efforts to reach the Kwara State Police Command for official confirmation were unsuccessful.

The attack adds to growing concerns over insecurity in Kwara State and the wider North-Central region, where communities continue to face threats from banditry, kidnapping and violent attacks, even during festive periods.

SaharaReporters previously reported that residents of Offa, Kwara State, were thrown into panic late Thursday night after loud explosions rocked parts of the town, destroying residential buildings.

This comes shortly after United States President Donald Trump announced U.S. airstrikes targeting ISIS positions in parts of Nigeria.

However, it remains unclear whether the military action in Offa was part of the US airstrikes or carried out solely by the Nigerian military.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing debris raining down from the sky, suggesting the explosion may have been caused by a drone-delivered bomb.

In a video exclusively obtained by SaharaReporters, a large fragment believed to be part of a drone bomb is seen lying on the ground shortly after the explosion.

SaharaReporters gathered that at least five houses and several shops were destroyed, with debris scattered across the affected areas.

The video footage shows damaged buildings and distressed residents calling on the Kwara State government to urgently intervene.

Some residents questioned why Offa, a largely peaceful town, would be affected by such an incident.

“Why would they launch a bomb here?” one visibly shaken resident asked. Another added, “We saw the drone remnants after it destroyed a house.”

A member of the local vigilante group who visited the scene confirmed the explosion, stating that it occurred around midnight.

“I got there after 12am. I called the Balogun (war chief), and he came immediately. We went to the hotel where one of the explosions occurred, but I won’t mention the hotel’s name. The hotel was damaged. Another explosion happened around the prayer ground near Ijagbo in Offa,” he said.

According to him, several houses, storey buildings, and other structures were damaged. “We thank God that no lives were lost,” he added.

Anyone who thinks the Boko Haram Insurgency which the country has been fighting since 2009 [sixteen years] will end anytime soon, is deceiving himself

Anyone who thinks Donald Trump, United Nations or any International Body will help us solve our problems, is living in self deceit

Anyone who believes that an elected President in Nigeria, as it is presently constituted, can solve all the hydra headed problems of the country, which also includes Boko Haram Terrorism, is not being sincere.

Anyone who wants Nigeria to remain as a political entity as it is currently, with the existing systems still in place, does not actually love the country.

Anyone who is against the renegotiation of the Political entity called Nigeria, either for regiionalisation or outright peaceful dismemberment of the country, is still not aware of the fate that will befall Nigeria if the inherent systems remain as it is

Yoruba was somewhat safe before the compromised Yoruba asiwaju came.. Yet can't do nothing to help his people. Wasted leadership

The plan is working. The terrorists have attacked as their masters in government who are against the US assistance have instructed. And the e rat are now doing the work given you them to do.

All of Una will still fail. Christianity is in nigeria and it has come to stay and expand. If you want an islamic country then cave it out from Una north and Southwest.

We know it will now become a guerilla warfare for bandits and terrorists now. Once they start loosing their grips on strong holds, they would resort to hit and run tactics.
Please the US shouldn't stop launching strike against them... Whether coordinated or uncoordinated. Continuous air strikes at their enclaves is welcomed. Decimate and neutralize them!

Terrorist who kill and destroy are assets and a friend to the jihadist caliphate.

According to the moomoo gumi, terrorists are angry so Nigerians should beg them, pamper them and give them all they have as ransom once they kidnapped and they demand ransom!

ffs who reasons like this? And the north is quiet? You only hear their voice once one Adebisi is given a role in the petroleum sector.

Northerners tufiakwa!
