While I acknowledge that we all harbor legitimate grievances against the incumbent government, the act of denigrating our military architecture, deriding our gallant soldiers incarcerated in Burkina Faso, and eulogizing foreign military might over our own to the extent of wishing Nigeria capitulates in a war against another sovereign nation is not merely a dastardly act of unpatriotic perfidy, but a truly lugubrious reality.

It is utterly disheartening to observe that such vitriol often emanates from supposed elders and veterans on this forum.

We must endeavor to exhibit higher standards of patriotism. Whether you acquiesce to this fact or not, your Nigerian identity is immutable.

You may choose to naturalize elsewhere, but the very day you perpetrate a crime, your supposed 'new love' will inevitably reference your ancestral roots.

1. Photo op.

2. Old pictures.

3. That one is wearing a smartwatch. How will he work when it dies after thirty hours in the forest? A children’s watch of 1,500 Naira is more reliable than those things.

I believe its a crime to wish Nigeria defeat in any war. Those wishing Nigeria will be defeated are obviously not mentally stable.

How can one wish their own country be defeated?

Patriotism like charity begins at home......patriotism as a word and value can be interchangeable used with loyalty and trust,. Can every citizen trust that the military will keep them safe? Can the citizen trust that the military will show up for them if they are in peril? Op if you can answer this with ur full chest it will help convince sceptics in benue plateau, kaduna, Adamawa, taraba and commuters on federal roads

So, we should keep our identity and celebrate the soldiers while they are busy celebrating themselves in a foreign jail?

With all this shenanigans, they can't defeat terrorists and bandits.
Re: Well Kitted & Armed Soldiers Of The Nigerian Military (Photos) by Anither563: 11:44pm On Dec 27, 2025
We must continue to love and support our military. They are our first line of defense and our last hope.

This forum has gone to the dogs, was surprised when I saw that thread on the front page yesterday.

Was wondering if it was ignorance or just plain stupidity.
Glad I'm no longer active on this shitty site.

@mr. seun @nlfpmod this is exactly how many of us now feel about this forum o. Nairaland should do more to promote our dear nation irrespective of bad governance or not.🙂

Buhari is known to be one of the most inefficient and clueless leader Nigeria's ever had (arguably)

But that same Buhari almost captured Chad o
I mean, a 22 years old girl like me have to remind Nairaland adults?? See the importance of making history compulsory in schools.

Many argue that Jonathan is slow (man is my favorite President though)

But the same Jonathan overan Mali with Nigerian soldiers in 2014 and restored Democracy within a space of few days! (Just in case some people might say Buhari's conquest of Chad is 'old glory')

We need to stop reducing our nation to rubles. No one can dislike the rot in this system as much as I do but my Yoruba people will say "bi a ba ta ara-ile eni lopo, a'o le rii ra lo'won"

It sort of literally means if you sell your kinsmen cheaply (dishonour or disvalue), you can't buy them back at an expensive value. (don't expect outsiders to respect them.)

Nobody is wishing Nigeria to capitulate. But we must be honest enough to acknowledge that the military is not doing enough to protect the country.

The military are well equipped and well prepared to defend the Nigeria sovereignty.

We are not going to allow any foreign forces to destabilize Nigeria.

Those who are interested in our destruction should have a rethink
