See the different video angles. This fight was just one of many.

This is the part of the festival that made it to be suspended for awhile. It's like a badge of honor to be part of the scuffle during eyọ festival and some of those folks in the video have actually waited for so long to fulfill this obnoxious dream.

The younger ones are watching and planning to do same when they grow up. Only true Lagosians understand why fight is part of the festival.

Police will arrest a lot of people and many parents will wait until next week before going to bail their wards. Some of those whose parents bailed from the police stations then in the past are today parents and grandparents.

One thing is that everyone will be alright las las.

What has your own state government in the East done about thesame thing you are complaining about? Have you ever complained to your state governors about the numerous videos we see online about masquerades assaulting people? Why care more about people that aren't your tribe but you don't care about what they are doing to your own people? You people are really strange humans
So this Helinues character is now from the East?

My comments is about fighting on the street which is common in Lagos state. You hardly see such in other countries.

Megacities globally (above 10 million in population) have gangs, cartels, mafias, cults etc. They evolve because of the underworld society only mega cities can host.

Not to over stress the point but what happens on Ẹyọ day is not fighting, it's beating and hopefully Obidients will come out on both Ẹyọ and Oro days to receive such. Stay at home on Ẹyọ days and watch it on television unless an emergency is the simple solution

For none Ẹyọ days or Ẹyọ fighting each other, I agree, it is a nonsense that needs eradicating. Actually, I have akwats felt from childhood that people gathering to watch fights in Lagos should also be carted away by the police as it encourages such indiscipline.
You see as a people we need to do better. helinues raised a point, but somehow you twisted it, made it look as if you don't want to offend him/her and then turned it to a class of people.

Rid yourself of this type of attitude. Don't be black and also be 'black'.

Heal yourself.

Shalom.

When you dress up a thug in dignified attire, it doeen't automatically remove the thuggery from him.

The biggest challenge in Lagos is the leeway and accommodation given to miscreants and lowlifes by Politicians.

Misdemeanors are even normalized as the "Lagos life or pattern".

Imagine someone saying that you have to be "abnormal" to enjoy Lagos.

Why has government not done anything about masquerades harassing people or will they pretend they don't see it? Or until the violence turn fatal

How can human beings be caning people that didn't offend them in anyway
I guess you don’t understand Yoruba language because the people speaking in the scene stated that the guy attacked the Eyo masquerade and deserved the beating

Don't judge by a few! You definitely know Lagos is one of the best cities in Africa.

Something really needs to be done systematically about the level of thuggery, touts, agberos, cultists and criminality in lagos.
With all the resources centered in the state you still feel uneasy about the thuggery and touts everywhere.

Helinues, "fighting on the street" is the norm in heavily populated, cosmopolitan, multi-ethnic and multicultural megacitys of the world with gangs, cults, cartels etc.

London, Paris, New York, Joburg, Rio de Janeiro etc. You name it. Na the norm. Would have thought this would be fairly obvious to you.

In fact, given our reality, I'd even deem Lagos tame in comparison to many megacities of the world like Sao Paulo and Mexico City for example.

Abeg don't feed the trolls from the region of hate. Lagos does not have major problems and is actually managing well given the extreme burden on her from people from the other States of Nigeria.

Especially those outside the SW.
Is Eyo a gang, is Eyo a cult, is Eyo a cartel. You gave a very lame excuse there. So, you will need to go to the extent of comparing Eyo to street gangs in other to give justification to the eyesore we are seeing being displayed before the world. Your major goal is to condemn the rubbish first and then strongly call for a fix to the problem so that next time your so called children of hate will not see an excuse to insult you.

Define mischief, hate and envy. @wizardofng, why is it that you and your cohorts feel you have the RIGHT and MONOPOLY to insult other tribes, but when given a dose of your POISON you become sanctimonious ranting machines?

You can cry blood from now till infinity. Learn to bridle your tongues when yapping aimlessly about IGBO people and their aspirations.

Nansense.
When Seun Osewa keeps enabling these tribal bigots, wetin you dey expect?

Anyone with an atom of sense should be aware of local customs and do all they can do stay on the right side of it.

Growing up, even without the Internet, we knew even Eyo would be "carried", even as children, we knew we had to be careful on that day with out movements.

I have seen broken glasses on cars, severe beatings etc whilst watching from a distance, I also know the people that suffered such would have more sense for next time.

Not all Ẹyọ's will let you bribe them for disrespecting their festival which I think some believe will happen.

Stay your butt at home and respect local customs to avoid stories that touch.
Wtf are you even spewing?

So I am walking my thing jeje, someone doing festival that has nothing to do with me, will start flogging me just like that and I will keep quiet or I am expected to run?

but if Muslims block road or Christians block road to observe their 10 to 20 mins prayer in a day, y'all gonna be the first to bash them abi?
