Sorry to burst your bubble, It doesn't work that way. Short service lasts for 5 to 7 years after which you'll be asked to either retire or convert to regular. Converting to a regular is a whole long process again. That's why you can scarcely see Short Service men becoming Generals. The entire process of promotion and conversion for them is very very tedious.

As for the Salary, there was no serious increment. When you hear salary increment in government work, it's most a times peanut increase.

This is completely false. Why do you people keep spreading false figures here all the time. 10m as allowance or whatever you call it is false. There are allowances but it's strictly based on your assignments and postings and it's not even fixed

Any information about their recent recruitment for mid level career officers in Federal, State or Local government, for grade level 10 and above?

The application period closed on 15 December, 2025. Since then, no update.

If you are in the know about the recruitment, share with us.

Secondly, is Federal Fire Service a good place to work? If I am placed on level 11 grade, what should I expect as monthly salary? Are they other allowances accruing to them?

10 million for where? It’s only cadet that get paid a huge amount after completing the program. That money was saved from their cadet allowance and given to them upon completion. For short service there might pay them something but it won’t be much.

If his job is a government job or a solid private job with good career prospects. I think he should stick to his 500k job.

I don’t think even a major earns upto 500k

What I’m hearing is that it could take till end of the month. Some people could be called after Christmas and before new year. So at this point it’s just prayers and Insha Allah we are on.

You get a commission allowance once you become a commissioned officer but I doubt it’s more than 2 million

Funny enough, another group observed their online test today. I think this week group is for those whose application were submitted manually. The test will end this week.

Maybe that was why results has not been released since 2 weeks ago.
