First off, Peter Obi is a turn off to lots of people, with the "Yes daddy" video and the tribal politics he played in Lagos over destruction of houses at Trade fair complex amongst other things. This is before we start looking at his nauseous Obidients. Amaechi doesn't have that baggage.

Secondly, Peter Obi in another party can seal off South East votes away from APC, Amaechi cannot do the same for South South votes so it makes more, sense to have Amaechi on board.

Obi-Atiku ticket is the best bet to defeat the ruling party. If they split their votes again like in 2023, then it is finished for both of them.

Obi in ADC? Tinubu will win landslide even with more votes in the southeast. Atiku/Obi as VP or OBbi/ any VP, in ADC , Tinubu has won clean clear, infact they will not be able to challenge the result in the court because of the gap

Obi is coming to ADC to become the VP. He is not coming to become the Presidential Candidate! He knows that is for Atiku.
He is already aware that Amachie is already lobbying for the position and may likely get it.
