There is a condition of this war you don't know. About 90% of debt the US owed has China as the creditor. Any war with China cancels that debt. That is what US is hoping to do and that is what China is avoiding.

Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia are all independent countries. Taiwan and Hong Kong are part of China.

Truly power is transient. About 100 years ago, Taiwan held power as Republic of China, the seat of power of Chinese elites. Until peasants and workers revolted leading to seizing power and forming of People Republic of China which chased the elites to into Taiwan island.

They are not the same people. They are as different as night and day. Different culture and languages in all cases.

The Taiwan and Hong Kong issue resulted from wars that separated them from the Chinese mainland. In the case of Hong Kong, it was seized by the British but later returned to china.

Taiwan for its own part, was ruled by the losing side of the Chinese civil war until quite recently. They are also Chinese.
