It's impressive that you brought that FACT up. A lot of people don't look at the bigger picture in the grand scheme of things BUT love useless speculations.

I too thought of that strong possibility about his alleged health status (among other variables) BUT also thought that if the Nigerian President 'Bola Tinubu is gonna relieve Olawale Edun (who did well as a Commissioner in Lagos State), he would do so WITHOUT any rigmaroling. The NEXT Presidential election cycle in 2027 is just a few months away and he has NO time to waste.

INFACT, the new year (2026) calls for the rejigging of his ENTIRE cabinet... Leaving folks like Festus Keyamo, SAN, and some other performers, while moving others such as the Minister of State for Defence Matawalle out of his cabinet.
You do have a point and I thank you for your response.

I do understand the "no time to waste" phrase you made but then, the challenge is that there needs to be a balance between productivity and long term relationships.

For some of us who employ staff, when you have an aging staff who has been with you over 10yrs and you have an option to get a new model "hot in the head" professional, you think about it twice because it's not just about productivity but also valuing loyalty that shows your other employees that you are humane and someone to sacrifice long-term for.

Again, I understand your point and I validate it.

What is he throwing away?

Will the 3 years plus as a Finance Minister be expunged or deleted or obliterated from his CV?

Dey there make pant dey wear you.
If you don't have anything reasonable to contribute as a rejoinder, why don't you STFU?

There are issues that are beyond your intellectual depth

Next time you see my comment, jump and pass.

I will not be this restrained.

Be warned

Succinctly stated... I like the very strong angles you brought in there. Those variables look very obvious but a lot of folks tend to ignore them.

In the event that aging members of staff have to be relieved from the workforce, then everyone MUST be on the same page.
That's where the knowledge of "emotional intelligence" has to come in for the true employees of labor because all spheres of life itself are based off of "relationships."

For speaking out that the govt didn't achieve even a quarter of its budget while wasting tax payers money every where, travelling and spending too many money meant for well being of the nation.

Minister spoke the truth and the President lied to the people...what a shameless administration.

You go just kee yourself over nothing. Minister didn’t speak against the Presidency, instead, Minister unknowingly implicated himself

And, we come full circle to the dilemma before us.

You have a loyal and trustworthy player (Wale Edun) who stayed with your club, Bola Tinubu FC, for 20yrs, to get into the champions league, only for him to be considered too old.

Emotional intelligence will suggest that you register him and bring him in for the last 10 minutes of each match to get the fans clapping for his service.

That is what we did for Steven Keshi in his last AFCON, 1994, where he was the captain but he was already too old to play beyond a few minutes. But he carried the trophy when we won.

Once again, thanks for listening to my own point of view too.

This is a totally speculative and indeed a FAKE story from a non-credible online publication which should NEVER have been brought to the NL front page. If 'President 'Bola Tinubu wants to fire you from his team, he will fire you. Period.
Exactly.

Surely, the man is going soon.
He has been too comfortable in the job.
He has shown tremendous lack of effectiveness and efficiency in his job.
He should go; there would be a better tomorrow.

What experience did Awolowo have before he became the best Finance minister in History
He came there straight from serving several years in prison and had not been in government for years
Many of you just talk for talking

A good Finance Minister should have integrity that is number one
There are enough technocrats in the Ministry to guide him on technical issue

Usually there are problems when there is a. Integrity challenge

Unfortunately this is a culture that has continued to plague and destroy Nigeria. When unqualified individuals are placed in positions that they have zero business being in. If Nigeria functioned on meritocracy everyone would benefit from it.

This feels like a beer parlour gist and gossip garnished with sunday dare story to make it look legit. If Tinubu wants him to resign he will be out of there the next second. This is more like a planted news by some politician eyeing the finance position. The same people that pushed the fake news he had stroke and sick.

Don't know how true or verifiable this news may be, but with 2023, 2024 and 2025 budgets running concurrently; I dare say: "Rofo fofo de for dis ministry." And some people are eyeing Mr Eden's position.

No Finance Minister has been able to match the performance of Ngozi Okonjo Iweala who took Nigeria’s economy to around $700 billion gdp. Trust Apc, it’s back to $250 billion.

Nigeria needs Tony Elumelu or Jim Ovia as FM if we are serious about reaching $1 trillion.
how did she take the economy to 700bn? You think your talking to children here?
