It's impressive that you brought that FACT up. A lot of people don't look at the bigger picture in the grand scheme of things BUT love useless speculations.

I too thought of that strong possibility about his alleged health status (among other variables) BUT also thought that if the Nigerian President 'Bola Tinubu is gonna relieve Olawale Edun (who did well as a Commissioner in Lagos State), he would do so WITHOUT any rigmaroling. The NEXT Presidential election cycle in 2027 is just a few months away and he has NO time to waste.

INFACT, the new year (2026) calls for the rejigging of his ENTIRE cabinet... Leaving folks like Festus Keyamo, SAN, and some other performers, while moving others such as the Minister of State for Defence Matawalle out of his cabinet.

I do understand the "no time to waste" phrase you made but then, the challenge is that there needs to be a balance between productivity and long term relationships.

For some of us who employ staff, when you have an aging staff who has been with you over 10yrs and you have an option to get a new model "hot in the head" professional, you think about it twice because it's not just about productivity but also valuing loyalty that shows your other employees that you are humane and someone to sacrifice long-term for.

Again, I understand your point and I validate it.

In the event that aging members of staff have to be relieved from the workforce, then everyone MUST be on the same page. That's where the knowledge of "emotional intelligence" has to come in for the true employees of labor because all spheres of life itself are based off of "relationships."

You have a loyal and trustworthy player (Wale Edun) who stayed with your club, Bola Tinubu FC, for 20yrs, to get into the champions league, only for him to be considered too old.

Emotional intelligence will suggest that you register him and bring him in for the last 10 minutes of each match to get the fans clapping for his service.

That is what we did for Steven Keshi in his last AFCON, 1994, where he was the captain but he was already too old to play beyond a few minutes. But he carried the trophy when we won.

No Finance Minister has been able to match the performance of Ngozi Okonjo Iweala who took Nigeria’s economy to around $700 billion gdp. Trust Apc, it’s back to $250 billion.

Nigeria needs Tony Elumelu or Jim Ovia as FM if we are serious about reaching $1 trillion.
