Peter Obi reacts to Anthony Joshua's road accident, Laments road safety and emergency response
It is with deep concern that I received the news of the road accident involving former heavyweight boxing champion, Mr. @anthonyjoshua, in Makun, Ogun State.

It is particularly worrisome that this incident occurred while he was in Nigeria. Many of us are also compelled to reflect on reports that no ambulance was readily available to convey him to the hospital.

May God Almighty grant him a speedy recovery, and I extend my deepest sympathies to the families of the two lives lost. May God grant them comfort and grant the departed eternal rest. -PO
Peter Obi

Must everything be politicized? Why is Obi politicizing others misfortune? Cant he just send his condolence without trying to score a cheap political point by making reference to lack of ambulance. How many ambulances did he buy for Anambra when he was gov?

My consolation is that neither him nor any of his kinsmen will smell Aso Rock in the nearest decades. Una go cry taya, yet you will not be allowed to go.

You should be ashamed of yourself as a Nigerian that and accident victim was placed in a police van instead of emergency ambulance. An accident that happened due to bad road which the government of the day has refused to fix.

So, must Obi be the one to say it even if true? Again, I asked the question how many did he buy as Anambra gov - help him answer it if you know. Must we attempt to make political gain from people's death?

You forget who the Igbos are. They endure, rise, rebuild, and return — always.

People who fear Igbo ambition call it “consolation.” History calls it denial.

ObI is a clown.

So it takes Anthony Joshua accident to realise lack of emergency response in Nigeria.

The man with a female voice could not even say anything about the reckless driving by Joshua’s driver.

Hypocrite- always looking for a way to stain Nigeria - a country he hopelessly wishes to govern.
Re: Peter Obi Reacts To Anthony Joshua's Road Accident, Laments Emergency Response by nairalanda1(m): 9:43pm On Dec 29, 2025
cheesy

Nigerians like to talk about emergency response being bad, but don't like to talk about how much it would cost to improve it.

We want UK level healthcare when our budget of 30 billion pounds is just a fraction of the 300 billion UK spends for it's NHS

Anyway, blame your apc government for not diversifying the economy away from oil and not improving tax to gdp

No matter how fast any emergency service want to be, Nigerians will always be at the site of accidents almost immediately.

I don’t know if it’s a good thing or bad.

You don’t just move people after accident. Many don’t know that careless handling of bodies have led to death of people that could have survived.

Nigeria has been a failed state since independence. The problem started when we thought that good government meant government building things for us. We never thought about where the money was coming from.

As a colony, Nigeria was never profitable. At all. Same issue since independence.

Strong countries also use their resources to make stuff the world needs. Nigeria sells it's resources and uses the revenue to import things that we can make here

That's why we are a failed state. Same thing for most of subsaharan Africa.

Blame the driving.

I have said enough about tax here that people call me agbero.

But even then, still doesn't excuse apc. Your party hasn't fought corruption and stopped the theft of most of our mineral resources and keeps a subsidy on power sector that essentially stifles it's growth

And you think your party is doing well? Lol
