Rivers: Wike, Allies Rule Out Support For Fubara’s Second-term Bid by SlavaUkraini(op): 2:12am On Dec 30, 2025
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has said that he and his supporters possess the political strength and structure to deliver any candidate of their choice in any election.

Wike stated that he and his political base were the ones who took a firm stand to support President Bola Tinubu and ensured his victory in Rivers State during the 2023 general election.

The minister made the remarks on Monday during meetings with his supporters and political allies in Etche and Omuma Local Government Areas of Rivers State.

He said that beyond the President’s victory, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, also won all elective positions at both the national and state assemblies, as well as the governorship election in the state.

According to the FCT Minister, these electoral successes are a clear testament to his and his supporters’ capacity to mobilise and deliver victories at the polls.

Speaking on Rivers State politics, Wike urged his supporters in Omuma LGA to “listen to Kelechi,” adding, “whatever he tells you, that is where I am.”

On his part, the member representing Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Kelechi Nwogu, declared that if Governor Siminalayi Fubara seeks a second term, the people of Omuma will not support him.

He told Wike to go home and sleep as regards the 2027 general elections, stating, “if the sitting governor is contesting election, Omuma will not support him.”

Nwogu added, “The worst person you can follow in your life, is an ungrateful person. When somebody says he is 001, let me tell you sir, I can never be 001 ahead of my boss. If you give me that position, I will reject it.”

He further said, “It is very unfortunate that a son wants to be bigger than his father because of power.”

Nwogu noted that defection was not the issue, but questioned the political capacity and electoral value of individuals who are suddenly defecting to the All Progressives Congress, APC, and declaring support for President Tinubu.
He assured Wike and President Tinubu that the people of Omuma are firmly behind them.

Wike also visited Etche Local Government Area, where he addressed his supporters, emphasising that politics will officially commence in January.

All I see is a scared crow. Wike is in mortal fear.
No general fights on four war fronts and wins.
- You are fighting PDP
- You are fighting Fubara
- You are fighting Makinde
- You are fighting Rivers APC
- You are fighting Abuja Senator and land owners.
If nobody told you that you are confused, use your common sense for once.

There is a parable that a wife fought the mother in law, they judge the case and she was RIGHT.
She fought sister in Law, they judge the case, she was RIGHT.
She quarreled with the neighbour, they judge the case and she was RIGHT.
She quarreled with the father in law, she was RIGHT.
She fought with the husband, then again she was RIGHT.
It is said that SUCH A WOMAN IS A FOOL.
Because, one day, she will fight the gods and then she would be RIGHT in the grave

To believe he has people supporting his demi-god status is further appalling.
We never ready for this country.

When the time comes we will know. My prediction is that Fubara will have is way. That is for sure. Fubara outsmarted him and he told Wike that we don't support from the corner.
Wike was unhappy with the defection because he knows that it will be difficult to fight Fubara being an APC governor right now. The president and the party will certainly stand by Fubara what then can Wike do. Fight the president?

Wike just figured how vulnerable he has become

And for a power/ control freak like him, it’s a big deal

But unfortunately the ship has sailed. Wike has no value for Tinubu in SS.

We are watching this space. I told you guys then that it was a temporary sheathing of swords, the part 2 was still to come. Now Fubara took the battle to him by joining APC ahead of him officially. I don't know how the president will sort this one but there are tense times ahead

If Votes will count in Rivers State, the Story will be different. Can we remind WIKE and his supporters to go and check their track record.

How Wike so much delivered Tinubu in Rivers State in 2023. INEC iRev still has the results on their site till now. IRev still shows who conquered Rivers State 2023 presidential election till now. Tinubu was not delivered in Rivers state , courtesy of INEC Irev not me. Its painful that in Nigeria white is black.

Wike seems to forget that Sim is now APC, while he (Wike) is PDP.
I think Wike has been beaten to his own game.
Let the drama continue, we are calmly watching in 3-D
