The planned defection of Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has thrown the Kwankwasiyya Movement, led by his political godfather, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, into confusion.https://dailytrust.com/kano-govs-planned-defection-unsettles-kwankwasos-camp/

What Batists fail to realise in all of these is that, Abba Gida's defection to APC to take over the structure will see Ganduje and Barau pitching their tents elsewhere, even if covertly. If Kwankwaso fails to defect with his godson, it would lead to even less votes for the APC, than in 2023, especially in the presidential elections. Tinubu's desperation and prioritisation of self will be his waterloo. He already showed how selfish he was when he threw Ganduje under the bus without a single thought, as demanded by Kwankwaso. |

Mr governor decamping to APC, won't stop emir ado bayero doing his job as emir of Kano state. |

So Kwankwaso wanted to give Fubara treatment to Gov Yusuf - the " no second term" treatment. Watch how Bitter Obidients give Kwankwaso a pass because he doesn't have a running battle with Gbajue. They forget that godfatherism is everywhere. Even PitaObi wanted to exert his influence over Obiano, but he rejected it, leading to a friction between the two of them. |

AMINDA:Don’t bother yourself about Tinubu’s decision. He has been in politics long before your parents gave birth to you so stop wasting your time bothering about his political moves. As an Atiku lackey, you should worry more about the failure of the ADC to gain traction and attract prominent political figures. |

seunmsg:Lol. Sometimes go out into the streets and touch grass. Is your idea of traction paying humongous sums to politicians in order to "attract" them? When is he paying up the remaining 20 billion naira out of the 50 billion naira and ministerial slot he allegedly promised Seyi Makinde in order to "attract" him? |

AMINDA:None of your business. Focus on Atiku’s failing coalition of desperadoes. |

seunmsg:H.E Peter Obi, a founding member of the coalition, will be formally declaring his ambition under the ADC on the 31st of December in Enugu, the capital of the Southeast. Will the ADC still fail to secure 25% in any Southern state as you predicted? Festus Keyamo is already jittery and jumping the gun. Your worst nightmare is becoming a reality. Meanwhile, Tinubu is still chasing after Kwankwaso and promising him the V.P slot in what will be a repetition of the muslim-muslim ticket because despite his so-called Southern consolidation, he still can't win without the hausa/fulanis. Lessons will be learnt! |

It's time that Kwakwaso knows that one state party cannot take Kwakwasias to anywhere. Governor is taking the right decision for the Kwakwasians, in APC they will have Ministerial, MDAs and other federal government slots |

If Abba betray Kwankwaso make I turn to salt. He has already debunked this theory and even threatened to sue any news agency that repeats such narrative. |

AMINDA:If Peter Obi eat his vomit and accept to run as Atiku’s spare tyre, ADC will surely get 25% in all the five south eastern states and no more. If Peter is not Atiku’s running mate, ADC will not get 25% in any southern states. |

The truth about this is that Governor Yusuf has outperformed kwankwaso and getting a second term is unlikely, the inner circle of kwankwasiyya would deny him the ticket. Also, APC fancy their chances in the general election especially the Governorship, the party is stacked. Las8, the call for defection is by elected chairman, state house of assembly and rep members non of whom was nominated by the Governor. |

seunmsg:Eat his vomit indeed. Is that the new line being promoted in the WhatsApp group as a comeback? Dead on arrival! No one has eaten his words in Nigeria's political space more times than Tinubu. He promised Seyi Makinde a ministerial slot and reneged. Begged Elrufai to work with him and reneged. Reached an "agreement" with Wike and is about to renege. The list go on and on but you all call it master strategy. The coalition will show you all what a master strategy looks like. |

This move by governor Abba serves kwankwaso right. I have never seen a northern politician that thinks himself too highly than kwankwaso. I don't like Tinubu but I love what he is doing in Kano and Rivers state. He (Tinubu) has used Wike to destroy PDP, and has used Fubara to destroy Wike. The same template will play out in Kano. Kwankwaso will learn in a hard way. |

AMINDA:You don’t know what you’re talking about. You think Tinubu is a novice politician like Atiku and his gang of ADC halfling? Atiku is finished in Kano. In 2023 election, he couldn’t even muster 10% of Kano votes which buttress the fact that he is a nobody. If he came defeat Tinubu in Kano in 2023, how do you think he will defeat a combination of the governor and Ganduje men? By the way, Ganduje is still with Asiwaju. They are close pals and Tinubu will never abandon him. |

AMINDA:The Tinubu and co don't even care about your analysis... They believed with Abba of Kano joining them, they have somebody that will backup their of rigging in the Kano's elections without much noise. If they succeed without Kwankwaso in 2027, his 2031 presidential ambition will now be killed forever, and he will eventually be political prostitute like El-Rufai |
| Re: Kano Governor’s Planned Defection Unsettles Kwankwaso’s Camp by AMINDA: 8:38am On Dec 31, 2025 |
Akpan107:I like how all of you in Tinubu’s camp can't paint a realistic picture of his re-election without affirming that it would be via rigging. Akpan, ask around. Unlike Akwa Ibom, elections don't get rigged in the North if the people don't want you. That's the fastest way to get counted. Tinubu's rigging margins will be coming from your conquered local government in Nsit Atai but he can't rig more than your voting population. There is no equivalent of a Wike in the North who gets his way against the people's will. Every popular politician in the North is only popular with the people's permission. |
| Re: Kano Governor’s Planned Defection Unsettles Kwankwaso’s Camp by Saladdin: 10:43am On Dec 31, 2025 |
AMINDA:Well said my Oga. If Tinubu fully agrees to Wike's terms, the figures that will come from Rivers and some part of SS will even shock the president himself. Because the "cooking will be brazenly done". Like you rightly said, the case is reverse in the North. Because with the sentiments and anger brewing in the North currently, any governor or political figure that misaligns will suffer political-wise. Many of them will even struggle to deliver themselves. Tinubu's implementation of that exploitative tax will permanently seal his fate as an OTP. Let's keep observing. |
| Re: Kano Governor’s Planned Defection Unsettles Kwankwaso’s Camp by Akpan107(m): 2:12pm On Dec 31, 2025 |
AMINDA:I am in the North as we speak, infact, let me be more frank precise with you, I stay in Kano and I was born and bought up here. 2019 elections in Kano, Abba won the election convincingly, because majority of the people never wanted Ganduje, But still what happened? It was rigged and handed over to Ganduje and Cafew was declared all over the state. Former deputy governor of Kano State under Ganduje walked into the Collection center and tore the results where Abba was clearly leading, and the elections was declared "INCONCLUSIVE" and that enabled them to change and manipulate the system. And, I am not a Tinubu fans, but instead of having another Northerner as the President, I will gladly support Tinubu. I am obedient. |
