The said money was a Christmas bonus and it's wasn't for house members alone but to all civil servants working under Rivers state government

Even if he gave the same money to everyone in Rivers State the main point is the house needs to approve these expenditures. These are the core issues they legislators had with him from the get go but hatred for Wike won't allow people to reason logically.

Is it proper or according to the law for state government to spend outside budgetary approval?

The legislators have tactically avoided being part of his impeachable offence if and when they decide to present that because Fubara is politically daft.

The reason why Fubara is handling finances and legislators the way he's doing is because he saw how Wike did as governor as a prominent member of Wike cabinet but what he fails to realize is that Wike has the loyalty of his legislators and people of Rivers State at the time.

It's better to try and fail than not to try at all. Secondly, Wike has made a lot of enemies within the top hierarchy of APC, and these people have more influence over Tinubu and APC than wike. They might give Fubara a free ride to second term just to spite Wike and cut his ambitions to size. When a man like Fubara comes out and make certain statements boldly, then just know that some forces way more superior than Wike are behind him

This is a gift so it's the obligation of receiver to either receive or reject.Were you given 100k by your state government this season and what's so special about them, did they not received their salaries and other allowances for this month?They are meant to serve the masses for cry out loud,this entitlement mentality must stop in our society for us to move forward like the advanced countries.

What is the minimum wage of the average Nigeria?
Do they work hard more than the civil servants?

Nigerians can now see who wants peace. Nigerians can now see who is provoking the other.

It was alleged that Mr. Ibas paid each of the Rivers state House of Assembly member loyal to Mr. Wike three hundred and fifty million Naira (#350,000,000.00) and one 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser SUV.

None of them talked about returning the money or the SUV neither did they allege that it was not appropriated.

I pity the followers of these politicians. A bunch of adults who allow a single man dictate to them what to do or say and how to behave. Very shameful and disgusting.

He probably did that on purpose and strategically. He expected this amount of backlash from them and he knew that these complaints from the lawmakers
would put them against the ordinary citizens who would view the lawmakers as greedy, and that would drive more support from the citizens in his favour. He knows people would ask that if ordinary citizens are getting 100k why then should a lawmaker ask for more?
