What is trading without volatility? How would we complete our 10$ Cashback challenge without volatility? In forex, volatility is life.

Re: Forex Trade Alerts / Discussions: Season 25 by TradingGod:
My 2025 trading journey can be summarized by this Holy Scripture:

2 Corinthians 4:17
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.

2 Corinthians 4:18
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
My 2025 trading year has been pivotal for me because this is the year I finally got funded and received my first payout.
After starting the year strongly, I entered into a deep drawdown in the month of May, but I thank God that my risk management strategy saved my account from blowing up.

WHAT I LEARNED

- You can ask God for a profitable strategy, and He will gladly give it to you (Matthew 7:7). I am a living testimony to this truth, because the strategy I currently use was given to me by God Almighty after I asked Him for help.

- Simplicity is king in this business.

- Patience, pain, probability, and persistence are the four parts of the process—you need all four to be profitable.

- Your trading psychology depends on how well you understand the ins and outs of your strategy.

- Profitable traders focus on the process, while unprofitable traders focus on the outcome.

- Trade execution is everything in this business.

WHAT I’M WORKING ON

- Inconsistency: I’ve noticed that the trades I enter often hit SL, while the trades I fail to enter end up hitting TP. This can be fixed by being battle-ready and consistently executing my setup whenever I spot it on my chart.

- Entry timing: I sometimes miss trades due to poor timing when spotting and executing setups.

WHAT I HAVE IMPROVED ON

- Patience: Understanding my strategy has helped me become more patient. I know what I want from the chart, and if I don’t see it, I sit on my hands until I do.

- Improved psychology: Accepting that strategic losses as part of the game has helped me to trust my strategy during losing streaks.

- Identifying my entry trigger.

- Sticking to what works.

- Reducing revenge trading to the bare minimum.

- Trading only one strategy: 2025 is the year I stopped trading multiple strategies and became serious with just one. Instead of jumping from strategy to strategy after a losing streak, I examined and refined my strategy into a simpler and more effective version.

- Journaling all trades that followed my strategy.

- Focusing on the process instead of the outcome during losing streaks.

ADVICE TO NEWBIES

- If you feel confused or want to give up, ask God for direction (Psalm 119:105).

- Trust the process regardless of the outcome.

- Understand the four parts of the process:
I. Patience: Waiting for the right setup to mature, waiting for TP, and the Patience to endure to the very end.
II. Pain: Strategic losses are part of the process—profitable traders experience losing trades too.
III. Probability: Trade outcomes happen at random. Don’t cry if your A+ setup hits SL and your C setup hits TP.
IV. Persistence: Keep showing up, even during losing streaks.

- Don’t tell everyone you trade forex—let your results do the talking.

- Don’t trade prop accounts if you haven’t found your edge yet. Instead, hunt for giveaway accounts on Twitter while refining your skills on a demo account.

- Be intentional—do the right thing at the right time

SUMMARY

2025 has been a pivotal year in my trading career. I finally found a strategy that suits my lifestyle, passed multiple accounts, got funded, and received my first payout. I am ever grateful for my progress in 2025, and I am super hopeful that 2026 will be even more glorious for us all, in Jesus’ name. Amen 🙏

ALL GLORY TO GOD THE HOLY FATHER
ALL GLORY TO GOD THE HOLY SON
ALL GLORY TO GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT

As a New Year note, I made more losses than gains this 2025.

So I downloaded many indicators on MT5, even created my own EA. The losses were little, and the gains we're great.

This December, I decided to test a strategy by using market sessions to determine temporary trade trends. I added zigzag indicator and I only made one loss till now. Profit na water. But there's one problem: I only made tiny profits where I should have gone for the bigger profits.

For instance, I made $27 on a temporary trend, only for the trend to continue. If I had gone greedy, would have made over $200.

Going into 2026, I'll be more positively greedy and I'll strive to test more strategy. If successful, I'll post them here.

Kaesyrn:
My Trading Year in Review

1. What I learned during the course of the year

This year has been a masterclass in discipline, patience, and consistency. I learned that trading isn’t just about making pips — it’s about sticking to a plan, managing risk, and controlling emotions.

I discovered the importance of reviewing every trade, understanding market behavior, and not chasing setups out of impatience. Each week of consistent tracking reinforced that small, calculated gains accumulate into meaningful progress over time.

2. Areas I discovered that still need improvement

Despite progress, I realized I still need to refine my timing in entries and exits, especially in volatile or corrective markets. There are moments where I hesitated or over-adjusted, costing potential pips. I also noticed that my emotional control can still be tested on losing streaks, which requires continued focus on mindset and discipline.

3. Areas I improved on within the year and how it shaped my trading journey

I made significant strides in risk management and consistency. By sticking to defined lot sizes, using proper stop-losses, and following my daily drawdown rules, I reduced unnecessary losses and avoided impulsive trades.

This improvement shaped my trading journey by instilling confidence and long-term thinking — I now see trading as a marathon, not a sprint. My ability to analyze setups quickly and act decisively has improved, leading to better overall results.

4. Mistakes I made that other newbies should avoid

The biggest mistakes I made were overtrading, revenge trading, and ignoring my daily limits. On days when I chased profits after a loss, I often ended up compounding my mistakes.

Another lesson is not to let one profitable day skew your mindset — consistency matters more than sporadic big wins. I’d advise any new trader to plan every trade, respect risk rules, and maintain emotional control, because these habits are what separate sustainable trading from failure.

My Trading Plan and Goals for 2026

1. How I intend to trade in 2026

In 2026, I plan to trade with even more discipline and consistency. I will continue to follow my defined strategies, strictly adhere to stop-loss and take-profit rules, and limit my daily drawdowns.

My focus will be on quality trades over quantity, prioritizing setups with high probability and clear risk-reward ratios. I aim to maintain emotional control, avoid revenge trading, and ensure that each trade contributes to long-term growth rather than short-term impulses.

2. Things I want to test or try out in 2026 to improve my trading journey, and how I plan to go about it

This year, I want to experiment with small adjustments to my trading sessions and strategies to identify opportunities for improvement. I plan to test slightly different entry techniques, timing for news events, and new currency pairs in a controlled manner using demo accounts first. I also want to track and analyze my trade journal more rigorously, reviewing metrics like win rates, pip gains, and risk-adjusted returns to make data-driven improvements.

By combining careful experimentation with my disciplined framework, I aim to refine my approach and achieve more consistent, sustainable growth in 2026.
