When I Think Of Peter Obi's 2027 Presidential Ambition, I Remember This by truthera(op): 1:45pm On Dec 31, 2025
When I think of Peter Obi's multiple defections and his 2027 ADC presidential ambition, I remember this.....

The national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Victor Oye, has revealed that a former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, vowed never to leave the party till death do them part.

However, Obi, who emerged as the governor of the state in 2006 and spent two terms in office, later defected to the Peoples Democratic Party in 2014. He became the Vice-Presidential candidate for the PDP in the 2019 general election.

Speaking about the defection and how APGA was able to win the Anambra election on Arise TV, Oye noted that Obi has not achieved anything politically since he defected because of the covenant he made with the party.

Oye stated that for Obi to achieve anything politically, he will have to return to APGA.

He said, “Remember that Peter Obi was in APGA and when he was with APGA, he performed superlatively well. The moment he left APGA, the APGA spirit left him. He has never achieved anything politically ever since. If he wants to achieve anything politically, he should come back to APGA; then, we will now re-ignite the APGA spirit in him.

“That is how it is done. Let me tell you, let him continue to jump from pillar to post, he cannot achieve anything because APGA gave him a platform and he took a vow that he will never leave APGA until death does them part. Now he left APGA; what do you expect would happen when you take a vow? A vow is a covenant and you must keep it. That is what is happening here.”

The APGA national chairman further cleared the air about his statement, noting that the party is not into occultism.

He said, “I did not mean a cult orientation when I said that Peter Obi vowed never to leave APGA till death do them part. What I said was an open thing and there is a video to that effect. For me, I believe in covenant. He made a covenant with God and not with APGA; is APGA God? He said he will never leave APGA until death does them part. That was what he said, it is open, I have the video.

“I am a Christian and I don’t have any business with cults; I don’t believe in that. My God is sufficient for me. What my God cannot do for me does not exist. In fact, what God cannot do for me, let it be. I am very proud of the God I serve.”

To those that commented above and think that I created this thread to attack ADC or in support of APC/Tinubu, I did not create this thread to attack or support any party or politician. I made this thread out of concern regarding glaring lack of integrity on the path of Peter Obi as Nigerians seem to be carried away by the euphoria of his political campaign over the 2027 presidential election. I wonder, if Obi can blatantly renege on commitments he made to his state supporters and betrayed APGA, the party that kickstarted his political career, how can Nigerians trust him? What is different between who he is now and then?

He has not achieved anything politically since he defected because of the covenant he made with the party.

This is the real reason why he is not making any political progress since he left APGA.

You're extremely shortsighted, narrow-minded and mischievous.

Inspite of the constant falling of the Nigerian state under APC, you want the status quo to remain?

Peter Obi will go back to APGA before 2027.

The country deserve better as Peter Obi can not be trusted, he hardly stands by his word and he is too soft to deliver the revolutionary changes that Nigeria urgently needs. IMHO, one of the main reason why Obi is been portrayed as a messiah is due to media hype and cult like following from people like you.... If I am to choose a candidate that I think may offer a selfless service to Nigerians even if his life may be in danger, I will choose Sowore over Obi. The reality here is that Tinubu and those who believe they own Nigeria will not go easily and will fight to maintain the status quo, Nigerians will need a fearless candidate that will not chicken out when it gets tough..... Peter Obi may have good intentions but I don't see him possessing such fearless leadership qualities.... He will do more for his people the igbos and Nigeria if he uses his popularity to push for restructuring or division of the country through a peaceful national referendum instead of contesting in the presidential election....

You don't know Obi thats why you speak like this. Obi is ruthless, don't let his soft spoken nature fool you.

If there's any politician that can make fundamental changes, its Obi

We shall see how it goes as I don't think you are yet to come to terms with what Nigeria represents.... I still maintain my earlier opinion that Peter Obi is better off using his popularity to push for restructuring or dissolution of Nigeria if he really cares about helping Nigerians.....
