Help Please: How Can I Retrieve My Powerbank. by saintbillion(op): 10:04pm On Dec 31, 2025
Good evening my fellow Nairalanders.

On the 28th of December, I went to Access bank to request for a new ATM card. While waiting for my turn, another customer, an elderly man of around 50years reached out to me saying i should help him out with my powerbank so he can power his phone and set his mobile app of which i obliged. I gave him the powerbank, when the bank staff was attending to me; the old man left the banking with my powerbank.

I quickly remember and raised alarm. His form was later sort out and his phone number was called. He picked and said he won't bring the powerbank. He ended up blocking the staff number. I requested they give me his number so i can trace him. They refuse and said it's against their policy.

The powerbank is very costly. Pls what can i do get my property

The man is heartless! You did him a favor and this is how he paid you back. Unfortunately this makes one think twice about helping others out.
I’d say you just let it go, and consider this as lesson learnt.
Re: Help Please: How Can I Retrieve My Powerbank. by Talkisneeded(m): 2:24pm On Jan 01

How will this OP be willing to help a stranded person next time?

Even if you track the man down, he can deny. How can you prove the PowerBank belongs to you without the powerbank serial number on your receipt?

Sorry OP, this is very painful but also very funny.

Like the man had the mind to say he won't bring the powerbank back like the audacity, he isn't even scared that they will trace his account number or anything.

The way Nigerians steal nowadays eh and they don't even see it as stealing, this man go don talk say he dey smart and God don butter his bread.
