Good evening my fellow Nairalanders.

On the 28th of December, I went to Access bank to request for a new ATM card. While waiting for my turn, another customer, an elderly man of around 50years reached out to me saying i should help him out with my powerbank so he can power his phone and set his mobile app of which i obliged. I gave him the powerbank, when the bank staff was attending to me; the old man left the banking with my powerbank.

I quickly remember and raised alarm. His form was later sort out and his phone number was called. He picked and said he won't bring the powerbank. He ended up blocking the staff number. I requested they give me his number so i can trace him. They refuse and said it's against their policy.

The powerbank is very costly. Pls what can i do get my property

op, is it 50 years you are calling an elderly man.. grin grin grin grin grin That means i am an elderly man already.

An elderly man should be around 60/70yrs old and such age wont do such thing

Involve the police go with police men and request to see their manager you will spend money but you won't spend up to that 70k before you recover your power bank
@op. Follow this advice and the crook will be made to refund every penny you spent including your power bank. Some Nigerians are terribly wicked people.
They just want to make it impossible for people to help those genuinely in need.

The society is full of demon incarnates. He’s like a serial traumatizer moving around and causing sadness to random people. Or maybe he’s just a thief who knew the value of the power bank and went after it. Coordinate from the bank, his phone number, account flagging, police and Efcc.

Expenses to be paid from his account.

Sorry about your power bank, just commit the middle aged man to God in prayers, he will make him more restless and miserable until he looks for you by all means necessary and hand over the power bank to you with apologies.

check the wattage of the different power banks
Charging speed is just the difference, still at that, oraimo products are overpriced.

Instead of buying the 27k mah for 70+ I'll buy their 600k mah at 94k

Contact the bank station manager, or Business manager... And respectfully state your pain about there customer scammed you through theft..

I expect the manager to place that customer on POST NO DEBIT...

Na the customer go waka com back himself..

Just pray that customer account is business , salary or pension account..

And he as sufficient funds ..

In fact, I just checked and to my surprise, the price is currently above 80k. There must be something special about it..cos I got new age power Bank with 50,000mah capacity for less that price
Check the "charging" rate 130W... Yours might be below 30W...that's what makes the difference.

It charges your phone from 0-100% in just an hour.

The bank staff attending to us knows I actually borrowed him my powerbank, cause he wanted to set up his mobile app after collecting his atm. It was when i was been attended to, that was when he left prior to my notice. So immediately i alerted the bank staff. She sort the man form and extracted his number cause it wasn't that long. They called him at first and ask him to come immediately for his atm card verification. He said he was close he is coming. I waited until around 3:45pm. They called him again and he said is that guy that he collected his powerbank still there abi? Then he cut the call. I waited again until after 4. I told the bank staff to pls give me his phone number. They said no. That i should come back on Tuesday they will reach him. So they said i should drop my contact details which i did. On Tuesday i went there again. They called him but he began blocking their numbers. I went to the a police station near by. They said the bank staff suppose give me his number since they are aware and the man also admitted he collected the powerbank. So they said i should write statement. And I'll also need court order and it will cost me money too i just left the police station cause i presume the stress won't be here
Sorry about your plight it's very painful but if you get money follow the case, make sure he return the powerbank and the other expenses you will spend.
The man is very wicked Chai
But if it's too stressful for you that man will met his Karma 🙏
Re: Help Please: How Can I Retrieve My Powerbank. by portals101: 6:11pm On Jan 01
Bank can't put red flag on the account, 1, it was not a transaction 2, not without a court order
Involving police also can't do much on the bank without a valid court order to produce a customer's details.

This leaves you with, either you let it go as a loss or go the short cut. Shut cut with some bank staff and pay the police. Who can easily use other numbers to track the thief down.

The bank is suppose to put a red flag on his account so it can draw him out to the bank..

Lol. How does this concern bank? Even banks warns not transact with a third party within the bank premises. Anything you do it's at your own risk. Not to talk of power bank.
