Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State is set to officially join the APC.

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, is scheduled to formally register as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This follows the governor's resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in a letter dated December 29, 2025.

In the letter, Governor Mutfwang expressed appreciation for the platform provided by the PDP and cited the need for purposeful leadership, clarity of direction, and effective service delivery as guiding his decision.

The formal registration and presentation of the APC membership card are expected to take place, followed by an interface with party leaders.

The move comes weeks after APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, announced during the party's national caucus meeting in December 2025 that Governor Mutfwang had joined the ruling party, consolidating APC's control over the entire North-Central geopolitical zone.

Just as Peter Obi exercised his freedom of association by moving from APGA to PDP, then to LP and ADC, Governor Mutfwang’s resignation from the PDP is well within his democratic rights. Don’t come here as a hypocrite or moral police—applauding Peter Obi’s defections while condemning others for making similar choices. Ultimately, what truly matters is that Plateau State benefits from accountable, competent, and effective leadership, irrespective of party affiliation

Lol. Is that a prayer point or a statement of fact? Go check the 2023 electoral map. Study the number of APC states Atiku won in the north and the number of opposition states Obi won in the South. Even Okowa couldn't deliver himself as a vice presidential candidate and a sitting governor. The people of Delta still had the presence of mind to vote Sheriff, demonstrating their intentionality and dynamism of their choices. Ask yourself, if Tinubu and Wike have not colluded to destroy the PDP and LP, ensuring that their forms will not get signed, will these governors be defecting to the APC? If no, then know that coercion can't win you votes.
