Sound accounting. Makinde says I have deployed Oyo state funds to the purpose. So it doesn't make sense to be accusing him of withhold it while victims suffer. The same way states spend their funds to repair Federal roads before FG reimbursement, he has addressed the situation with State's funds. |

hush15:Must you comment ![]() ![]() You are asking why are Nigerians like this instead of asking yourself why is your life like this ![]() ?You are supporting the gentle devil that kept money given by an opposition government to help indigenes affected by an explosion in his state. |

Validated:Did you understand what you read? Do you even understand what is going on. What was the money meant for? So the money is to be kept. Let us call a Spade a spade. Seyi is not straightforward at all. He is not different or better than other politicians. They are all the same. |

So if fayose hadn't raise the issue we would not have even known FG disbursed any fund for such emergency. Naija politician will never die well. |

Yelight:So you think the money is kept somewhere? You must be kidding. He is trying to safe face. Makinde is just like any other politician. What was the purpose of the money? To be kept till eternity? Hmmmmmm. I don't know how some people think. Is it because you love Makinde or what? The money was not given to him last month now. |

VanuatuWycombe:Obviously it’s a cover up statement of account, for good 13 months no single kobo is added or removed, no money in the account before and no money is added to it. Keeping the money for what? |

All these shalaye doesn't make sense. How can you keep money meant for the welfare of the people in the back since 2024? Do you want to outdo tinubu in official sleaze? This is all shades of wrong. |

eminemkayc:This is true, if you don't move the money. I did a couple of transactions and Gtb removed N35k as charges for this past December. But the point is that there are always little little charges of N50 and N120 that no one understands that current account owners face. Your money no fit complete sha, except no be Nigerian bank. But maybe this is lodged into a special account. It's possible. |

WesleyPepper:Humans are something else... Disaster happened, money was approved for victims hospital bills and rebuilding of properties affected. The state Governor for no reasons decides to hold the money down for over 2 years... What level of selfishness and lack of human sympathy is this? He was holding the money down for FG to forget it and he steal it.... To think he might not be the first to do this is more worrisome |
| Re: Bodija Explosion: FG's ₦30bn untouched, ₦20bn yet to be paid - Oyo Govt by Ashirioluwa: 8:57pm On Jan 01 |
Since November 2024, the money has not been generating any interest. If the 30 billion naira had been placed in an interest-bearing account, such as the Access Bank HIDA savings account with a 6 percent rate, from the time it was released in November 2024, it would have earned more than one billion naira in interest by now. |

TheBizGenius:This is a perfect response. However, there is no special account with the specified bank above as I am deeply knowledgeable about its product. No interest accrues on a typical current account with that bank. The narrative in the image file is clear on the nature of, and type of account opened, as being a current with no special feature. As regards your submission, you are perfectly correct. The figure representing the balance on the current account is expected to decrease (not increase or remain constant for the period under review) due to frivolous bank charges associated with this class of account such as account maintenance charge, etcetera |

Kindledlight:IN THE PAST, MANY STATE GOVT INCLUDING THE ERA OF FAYOSE ADMINISTRATION HAS SPENT STATE FUNDS ON FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ROADS AND OTHER PROJECT WITH AN MOU TO GET REFUNDED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT... MY QUESTION IS WHY IS THE SITUATION OF OYSG DIFFERENT CONSIDERING THE EXPLANATION GIVEN BY SAYING MAKINDE.. HE SAID ABOUT 25 BILLION HAVE BEEN SPENT ON INTERVENTIONS FOR REBUILDING , COMPENSATIONS AND LOGISTICS. IN MY OPINION, THE INITIAL 30BILLION RELEASED IS JUST TO REFUND THE STATE TREASURY WHILE THE OYSG IS PUSHING FOR THE BALANCE... WHILST I AGREE THAT SEYI SHOULD BE PREPARED TO MAKE MORE CLARIFICATIONS, I STILL THINK THE OYSG HAVE NOT DEVIATED FROM HER SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY |

press9jatv:This your long story , you will think you are smart ....but look at your ignorance below Incident happened in January, FG send money in November , do you think the State Govt wil wait for that long before doing something about it ? See your ignorance number 1 , secondly the state govt did everything needed to be done immediately the incidence happened and by August , the people of Oyo state had forgotten about the incident , go there yourself and verify , you will not know that bomb blast happened in that location , that location is still the most expensive location in Oyo state 2 all govt account are current account , govt don't open savings account Charges don't applied to govt account at the same time , current account does not earn interest but because majority people on this platform don't really know anything pass what they tell them in the WhatsApp group, they are busy looking for interest in a current account Go and get full education pls |

The Oyo state government has spent 24billion of its money already. The FG should disbursed what has been approved. The ball is in the federal government's court HgAkpobomeEr: |

If Makinde is truly smart as he claimed (because I like him, though I am disappointed that a youth like him has shamed us. We are no different from the corrupt elders we blame daily), he should have apologised to the people of Oyo State, the Victims of the explosion, the FG and Nigerians at large. There is no other way to go about this one than increasing the gravity of the wrong doing with all these ridiculous cover-ups. When you are caught, you are caught. Accept your fault and beg for forgiveness rather than all these arrogance and show of shame. In saner countries, you will be forced to resign your position or might even face prosecution based on the intent to divert. |

eminemkayc:This does not pass the smell test. Can GSM provide a history of all transactions on the account or just simply show us a statement of the account dating back to a year ago. I have known this guy to be a land grabber and a thief. Fantanstically currupt. Again, as long as he pays people at the secretariat and pension, he is the best. N30Billion just sitting in a current account . year right! |
