What Could Be The Cause Of This ( Photos) by Demetrix(op): 8:17am On Jan 02

Goodday everyone. Recently I started feeling some scratches on my elbow area and some other random areas on my body and if I scratch it swells. However that of the elbow seems serious ( Photos attached) Note that I also feel scratches in buttocks too. NB: I've not had sex in 4months.
I also get random feeling of scratching around my body.

You've not had sex for last 4 months, that's the cause. Your body has re-absorbed your sperms, some which are dirty and dead back into your system and your immune system is fighting them, your skin is reacting to it 😂

@OP you need to visit the pharmacist /doctor for them to check you out and make prescriptions. But before you do that you could be using skineal cream. It would help a lot.

That's scabies!

Get benzyl benzoate and apply as directed on the bottle.

Wash all your clothes and beddings with hot water (and iron them after they are dry)

You'll be fine in under a week

Of lately I randomly experience itching in parts of my body esp hand n buttock

A picture doesn't explicitly show what this could be. However other symptoms could help give a guess diagnosis. Does it itch? Does a liquid oozes out of it. Is it just confined to your elbows? My first impression is scabies. In that case Ascabio (Benzyl benzoate) is your first line of eradication in combination with some good hygiene..

Locally you might want to apply a sulphur ointment like aquasulf which could help with the itches and rashes..On a serious note if the rashes are generalized it's good you see a doctor to ascertain the cause of the rash and appropriate treatment...

Looks like Scabies.

If so, you've got bugs nibbling at you at your place.

If it scabies, get this lotion and apply topically after a shower (preferably a warm water shower)

Go and do full blood count test.

Most times an itchy irritaiable skin condition is either a sure sign of low red blood count.

A full blood count test will also show if you have an underlying infection or autoimmune disorder with an elevated white blood cell count.

It could be as a result of both that is a blood infection leading to high or spike in immune response.

The blood test will guide your doctor in carrying out further blood work to determine the underlying infection.

But I believe its down to depleted red blood count. Did you recently recover from Malaria ? It might be badly treated malaria as that is one of the major cause of depleted red blood cells which sees to itchy skin .

Op.
Answer these questions:

1. Does itching worsen at night?
2. Are the rashes also in-between your fingers, ass hole, armpits, back of knees?

If YES to any of the questions, then it is SCABIES.

Go to any pharmacy and ask them to treat you of SCABIES.
They will give you:

1. Permitrin cream - around N1500 to N3000. Depending on the company brand. Benzyl benzoate is olden days drugs for treating it. But it is outdated and not as effective as heavy scabies infestation. And benzyl is very painful but permittin is not painful in any way.

2. Also SCABIES tablet ( about N15 per tablet). You will need 8 tablets ie. N120 only.
You take it 4 tablets now, then another 4 tablets in 8 days time.

3. During treatment wash all your bedsheets, towels, clothes with hot water and iron them.
If possible leave the house for 2 weeks for all the scabies to die on their own.
Mop the house with dettol water and clean all hard surfaces like tables, chairs, offostry etc

4. Don't forget to treat everybody in that same house as you are treating yourself. If you don't reinfestation will surely occur

Basically scabies are small insect like bugs that bore holes in the soft area of human skin and live in it. Then they lay eggs inside those holes. Those eggs are what causes itches. The eggs irritates the skin.

The eggs take about 7 days to hatch to full adulthood.

The 1st dose of tablets kills the adult scabies.
Then in 8 days, the eggs too will hatch and become adults.
Then the 2nd does will kill those new ones too.

The cream itself destroys the eggs and helps with the itching.

Scabies is contagious if you touch the sweat or skin or towel or clothes of any infected person.
It transfers from skin to skin.

Children and babies are more vulnerable to scabies because their skin is not thick like adults
