Accept my most hearty sorry. I mistook your premium powerbank for my medium quality 40k.

Go to a magistrate court to get court order and arrest the thief. Some people are heartless and worthless.

Old man for God sake.

Remember the name is Oraimo power jet, it's different from the normal power bank, if you Google the price it's even expensive.

Op, first no call 50 year old elderly man, how you want some people here weh don pass that age to feel?
Anyway you need to teach that old thief a lesson and even get plenty of money from him.
Go to the nearest police station and make a report, it may cost you to mobilize police but do it if required. It is the police that will do the process of getting the customers details and arresting him. As for you, you will insist that you want the matter charged to court, Oga I assure you that that man will cough out 10 times the value of that powerbank to compensate you, pay your cost of mobilization and then settle the police big money to bail himself after you leave the matter.
Bros, don't leave it to God as Nigerian say, do the wahala.

The bank is suppose to put a red flag on his account so it can draw him out to the bank..
Exactly. The theft happened in their banking hall, involving two of their customers. They are not supposed to protect one. Yes, it's against their policy to give out numbers, but this is a special case, one that happened right in their presence. They should restrict his account and place him on red alert across all branches. when he goes to any of their branches to find out what happened to his account he'll be arrested. 70k power bank is not play.

Good evening my fellow Nairalanders.

On the 28th of December, I went to Access bank to request for a new ATM card. While waiting for my turn, another customer, an elderly man of around 50years reached out to me saying i should help him out with my powerbank so he can power his phone and set his mobile app of which i obliged. I gave him the powerbank, when the bank staff was attending to me; the old man left the banking with my powerbank.

I quickly remember and raised alarm. His form was later sort out and his phone number was called. He picked and said he won't bring the powerbank. He ended up blocking the staff number. I requested they give me his number so i can trace him. They refuse and said it's against their policy.

The powerbank is very costly. Pls what can i do get my property
That man is a born thief.
Re: Help Please: How Can I Retrieve My Powerbank. by middlebelter(m): 7:40am On Jan 02
You should mention the branch of Access Bank and call on.thier management to support police investigation in fishing out the criminal by sharing his contact with police. First report at the nearest police station. With involvement of police, they will likely share his contact and also the criminal will receive more pressure after hearing from.police.

Heartless people everywhere.
How will this OP be willing to help a stranded person next time?

Even if you track the man down, he can deny. How can you prove the PowerBank belongs to you without the powerbank serial number on your receipt?

Sure about this 28th Dec? That's a Sunday.
That is not any old man but a thief forming to be elderly man so that he won't be suspected, forget about that power bank because he would definitely have sold the thing even the same day he obtained the thing.
Re: Help Please: How Can I Retrieve My Powerbank. by Ujadon: 11:30am On Jan 02
Go to the court and get a court order mandating the bank to block the accounts of the man, not permitting any transaction on his accounts.
Charge him for theft and for making u loose business deals worth millions.

When he comes to the bank to verify, they will ask him to go to court there is a petition against him about a stolen power bank.

You will continue from there..

Receipt without Serial number of product is almost useless in proving ownership of the product.
Who has receipt of ownership without serial number has a good case over who cannot provide receipt of ownership at all.

If you come to my house & claim my TV belongs to you. I'll simply say I've misplaced the receipt.

The onus rests on you to prove the TV belongs to you by providing receipt with your name & serial number of the TV.

Abi You think you can claim ownership of my TV by providing any TV receipt without serial number? grin

You're just trying hard to sound intelligent but you're not. Serial number has never been the only determinant of ownership, besides, the onus is on you who cannot provide receipt of the said powerbank , to prove beyond any doubt that you're the real owner of the gadget and ofcourse you cannot. The main problem with Nigerians is that poverty and corruption has so dealt with people that no one believes in the courts/ judiciary to do the right thing.

If you find yourself in the USA/UK, steal someone 's gadgets and when they present their receipt of purchase in court, ask them for serial number without providing your own receipt cheesy

So with my Samsung TV receipt without serial number, I can enter any house & claim ownership of any Samsung TV if the owner can not produce his receipt?
That's laughable. grin

So to you, Serial Number in a Receipt is not important?
You are not bright at all.

Re: Help Please: How Can I Retrieve My Powerbank. by Bossman(m): 3:51pm On Jan 08
Unfortunately the bank will not be able to do much officially or block his account for that matter. Because this issue did not involve a banking transaction. It’s a personal matter that happened in their banking hall. It has nothing to do with his bank account. So they can’t touch his bank account.
