I think its better to separate. Other countries have done it and the world didn't cease to exist. This country is new, who would have believed a country called Nigeria would exist later in 1910. |

What a way to start the new year! The OYC should be told in no unmistakable terms that Nigeria has come to stay and no amount of rabble-rousing, clannish sentiments, incitement to chaos and other unpatriotic moves can change that fact. The endless lamentation of being marginalized is exaggerated and meant to whip up an undue scenario of being oppressed. The major pain of the Igbos is that since the emergence of democracy in 1999, the ethnic nationality has not been able to produce the President. Not being able to produce the President is not an evidence of marginalization. Barak Obama, a black man of Kenya descent and a minority in US politics was able to break the jinx by becoming the first black person to rule the USA after many years of seeming hopelessness. Obama built bridges and not walls in his quest of becoming POTUS. The Igbos, not all though, continuously see themselves as victims instead of victors. The more they ostracize themselves from the mainstream Nigerian politics, the more they appear like foreigners in their fatherland. This mindset of "we versus them" is a vice and not a virtue. If the mercantile acumen for which the Igbos excel anywhere they go could be replicated in the political arena, they would definitely heal themselves of the victim mindset. @hotseat |

Thiefobi1:Your Oduduwa Republic agitators are all over Nigeria. They even waved the flags of Oduduwa Republic on the grounds of London's Chatham House in support of Bola Tinubu who was speaking inside. Remove the log in your eye before you talk about the speck in another's eye. |

I saw this coming. It's going to be sooner than expected. I see their region develop in an unprecedented way starting this year and the exit will be peaceful. Before anyone yearns opata here, I'm not one of them but Im always an advocate of equity, justice and fairness. May baba adebanjo's soul rest in peace. I always stood with him on this. The ibos shouldn't see all the perceived marginalisation as an ill luck. God works in unimaginable ways. Had pharaoh that ruled during the exit of istrelites heart not been hardened by God, they'd not have left Egypt. Istraelites would have been our slaves in africa forever. So, it's part of God's plans. I'm a realist and a believer in God. This had been prophesied since the late 90s by a popular ex-armed robber turned pastor in Ibadan in a church i attended during a crusafe. He also narrated how he met God. My only concern which anyone reading this should take home is, how are we going to fill up the vacuum once they leave? I'm talking to sensible people amongst my tribe here. Name any sector in which they're not dominant. It's shocking to see the list of those materials I bought for building my house back then were 99% supplied ibos at odunade/coker. Where are the oro/ajase people? Most of the houses on the lagos island were built with the materials sold by them. What has changed? They're only prominent in iron materials supply now. How many of our people are into pharmaceuticals, auto parts, fashion materials, electronics, gadgets etc? The earlier we take up this challenge, the better. If Somaliland of all places could be recognised as a state, then biafra won't be an exception. Referendum or Nigeria constitution aren't even compulsory legal clauses in this case. The amalgamation of 1914 can be repudiated. It's not a forever thing. Once the UN recognises them, that's all. They have enough proofs to back their exit agitation already. Donald trump can also influence this. As an advocate of yorubanation, the earlier we start the process, the better. See the fulanis we always see as brothers now killing our people without remorseful feelings and their leaders are keeping quiet. They're even saying our land belongs to them. I think it serves us right as a people. Self determination isn't a sin. Enough said. |

I think it’s better we await the outcome of the 2027 elections first before we take this decision. If Obi eventually becomes VP, we can jettison this idea of leaving Nigeria, otherwise, to your tents oh Israel |

HacheNoire:Once an elected person is sworn in, that person can never be pro- separatist because clauses in the oath of office strictly requires that you uphold the unity of Nigeria Pushing for referendum will constitute a breach of that aoth. So you begin to visualize the dilemma of the Igbos and why they are threading a more or less non-traditional political path |

Jayhome24:You want to convert people's landed property and businesses to become yours. Lazy thing. That's behind all you people's yappy yappy that Igbos must leave rest of Nigeria and return to Igbo land before Igbos get their own country from Nigeria. |

onuman:You want to break away from Nigeria and still remain as Nigeria resident, which will not be allowed. A resident will only be allowed by permit. All these succession story is another ploy by peter obi group to seek for sympathy votes. |

Anyone thinking jailing or killing nmk will automatically end the biafra agitation is just day dreaming. Nigeria is showing signs of a failed state and so any sane people that are agitating to leave the forced unholy union aren't supposed to be criminalised. |
