But I think if the truck wasn't there, chances of the driver not killing those guys won't have been zero. Because he was coming from Lagos with same speed, and he didn't hit anything.I am sure you have not seen this elites convoys on high way driving. That is how convoy drive reckless in Nigeria.Again I won't blame the driver, judging from that angle that he didn't have a valid driver's license. Where is AJ's team in all of this? Who hired the driver and why he was driving reckless why didn't the occupants in the vehicle caution him? AJ should free that guy, even though he acted smart by dodging the truck from his own side.. Cux he was supposed to join those guys from the impact..
There are consequences to every action. No one asked him to drive recklessly. As a driver, the responsibility for lives will always fall on you so you owe it to yourself to exercise care when driving. The driver most certainly will go jail. If a car is speeding so much that it goes off the road and hits a truck off the road. He absolutely lost control of the car and had that truck not been there to stop the SUV, they might have all died from the car somersaulting and even killed others.

People that have never driven before are the judge and jury in this case, neither do they have the facts right. The cause of the accidents clearly states Tyre burst, yet they managed to include reckless driving as the cause of the accident.

So what if the truck divers that park indiscriminately on the road shoulders. Those are the real people to be arrested. I don't understand this country. Is those places they are parking meant for trucks. You just want the English guys to see more of what we can do . Release the poor guy. The road shoulders is means for temporary stops and not permanent ones as we have them by trucks
Re: Anthony Joshua’s Driver Charged To Court, Granted Bail by Sk5050: 6:48am On Jan 03
Note that driver is in a serious mess by not having drivers license and that's a criminal offence to drive without license he risk going to jail
StillDtruth:
Charging him is already injustice. It is an accident. Yes he was wreck full but that is the meaning of an accident. The liability he has is to compensate the families of the dead and repair/replace Joshua's vehicle.

Since charging him is injustice, But you also didn't state where he has the funds to compensate families of the dead.

Very stupidd driver. He needs to face justice he found out if found he drove recklessly
Joshua should has cautioned him but he didn't there's no way the driver wouldn't have listened to him but instead he kept quiet while the driver overspeeded he should also blame himself for what happened.

It's sad Nigeria does not Protect its citizens.
Why Remand someone who is still having PTSD in a correctional Facility? Especially our type of Prisons.

Your first sentence na rubbish talk.
The truck has been there for weeks.
It was still there 3days after the accident.
If the truck wasn't there, they would've had space to maneuver.
u r wrong bro, if the truck was not there, with dat high speed, dat jeep would have somersaulted several times and i doubt if anybody would have survived
Re: Anthony Joshua’s Driver Charged To Court, Granted Bail by phadul: 7:32am On Jan 03
I have never heard a careless driver arrested and changed to court in Nigeria until now because a celebrity is involved. huh All other accidents that happen every day on Nigerian roads whether from carelessness or victim is summed up to be fate that just happens. But we all know that justice is for the rich and famous in this country only and lip service

he wasn't the only vehicle that has been passing by the said truck, over speeding likely to have been the cost

This life..if the driver had carried them to their destination safe, nobody go care to know the driver's name and age o.. But as things went south now, them don hold am for brokos, forgetting that he is also facing trauma at the moment. Dude wasted two people, ended a promising career of brother J. He is not going to forgive himself anytime soon. And now, them don put am for prison.

AJ for just forgive am..

The useless road safety and police talking now,why didn't they tow the truck, while it was stationed there in the first place?
So for your mind na AJ charge him to court? It's against the state and AJ does not even know what's going about the driver being arrested and charging to court.

The driver on his own part is facing two hot charges, He has no driver's license and His reckless driving.

He has no liability to replace the vehicle
The owner of the vehicle should have insurance for that

What is the meaning of accident?

In your mind you have said something meaningful and sensible

Was the offence od dangerous driving written into our criminal Code overnight because of him?

Is there any country you know of that does not have a crime of
CAUSING DEATH BY DANGEROUS DRIVING
Re: Anthony Joshua’s Driver Charged To Court, Granted Bail by Rindo69: 7:55am On Jan 03
So, cos a International sports star was involved, suddenly we have found our powers to charge reckless drivers to court yet there is an Abuja based boy whose reckless driving killed a baby and led tonthe amputation of another passengers leg but nothing has been done to him.

FRSC says reckless driving and wrongful overtaking...which may have gone well IF A TRAILER WAS NOT BROKEN DOWN AND LEFT BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD! FRSC , will you say the road was safe huh Police said tyre burst..those ones may have seen a burst tyre as a result of the impact and guessed it was the cause... thats our NPF.

For a definitive cause of the accident, they should pull the ECU and ACM from the vehicle...they'd be able to get speed, steering input, braking input and other data to reach the correct conclusion and not guesswork!

I think the main culprits in this incidence is the truck driver that left his faulty truck on the road and the agencies responsible for ensuring such does not happen(police, frsc). Unfortunately they are the one prosecuting the driver. Probably if the truck was not there the SUV driver would have had enough room to maneuver the vehicle. Does the driver has control over burst tyre? The answer is no.
Re: Anthony Joshua’s Driver Charged To Court, Granted Bail by kenmaro: 8:07am On Jan 03
If the police investigation was concluded on a burst tyre, why holding the driver responsible for the accident?

Prosecuting for other charges except not having a valid driver's license is wrong. Also, why would the could place a bail bond of ₦5,000,000 on him? Is he a criminal or did he commit a financial fraud? They should apply the predetermined penalty/fine as stated in the traffic law not based on status as this is a civil and unintentional act except if proven to be intentional. The court should act accordingly as this incidence attracts international attention considering AJ's involvement putting the Nigerian legal system in the limelight.
Re: Anthony Joshua’s Driver Charged To Court, Granted Bail by blowjohn(m): 8:22am On Jan 03
if u enter tik tok u will see videos of oyibos saying that Jake Paul may be behind it because Anthony Joshua was not supposed to win that match. like they wanted a white to conquer a black. but Joshua beat the guy like thief.

If u watched the fight, it seems joshua wasn't having any of the signs jake showed him( the lips out sign) to slow down. Instead joshua beat shege comot him.

And millions were lost in betting... In a game that probably was planned out for Jake to win.

Re: Anthony Joshua’s Driver Charged To Court, Granted Bail by Levels1(m): 8:29am On Jan 03
Do you say off road ?
if yes, the truck wasn't park off road and the owner of the truck is been search for.

The truck was parked off-road, with a good distance. He was very reckless
