Seun:Happy New Year to you, sir. Please, could you consider monetizing this platform like Twitter? The articles I upload here are being banned, while on other platforms I get paid in dollars every week. I think this is worth reconsidering, sir. |

Sandralight:What is your plan/agenda for the Romance section? |
| Re: Happy New Year And Welcome To 2026! by Sandralight(f): 12:24pm On Jan 02 |
Seun:Good afternoon Sir So my Agenda or plan for the Romance section is this 1) Post more engaging Stories 2) Reduce the gender wars 3) Give rewards for Accounts that posts engaging Topics to drive more traffic 4) Create a monthly competition between the male and female members or for all members in the Romance section 5) Create a Topic about marriage counseling, where members who are married or about to can engage in. There are many more Sir |

Seun:If this is directed at me sir, before I delve into this unique question and it's accompanying details, I have deemed it appropriate to fully understand that, being a moderator comes in concomitance with enforcing and facilitating healthy interactions within Nairaland by balancing rules, user experience, and platform goals. I latch-onto the reality that - the role combines policy enforcement, community stewardship, conflict resolution, and operational work. My agendas for the romance section and Nairaland in general includes: • Enforcement of rules: I plan to make it a condition sine qua none, to apply Nairaland guidelines persistently. I would be dedicated to removing or editing contents that violates rules, issue warnings, suspensions, or bans when necessary, and document enforcement actions. • Curation of contents: I would approve, highlight, or pin high-quality posts. Also, I would see to closing, merging, or archive of duplicates and off-topic threads. I plan to maintain topical focus and signal norms, as well. • Resolution of conflicts: I would be proactive in mediating disputes between members, de-escalate heated threads, and convert adversarial interactions into constructive discussion when possible. • Safety and compliance: I plan to orchestrate the identification-of and action-on harassments, threats, illegal contents, doxxing, hate speech, self-harm signals, or other safety risks. • Community building: I would entrench and model desired behavior, recognize valuable contributors, and run events or initiatives that increase engagement and retention. • Transparency and communication: Moderation decisions would be explained to users in clear and calm manner. I won't hesitate - to write concise and respectful explanations; produce public statements and moderation notes that are factual and non-inflammatory. • Impartiality and consistency: I would see to the application of rules evenly and avoid favoritism or reactive moderation. • Clear judgement: I so much believe in balance, infact, my lifestyle is redolent of it. So, I would balance enforcement with proportionality; choose the least disruptive action needed to restore standards. • Emotional intelligence: On natural grounds, I am a calm person. So, I aim to remain calm, de‑escalatory, and empathetic when handling upset users. • Collaboration: I am excellent at working with other people, so I would enthusiastically work with other moderators and staff, provide handover notes, and support shared standards. • Cultural literacy: I would make it a mission - to understand community standards and subtext, so actions would appropriately fit local expectations, while aligning to Nairaland's policies. I plan to offer the above and more, if I am made a romance or other section's moderator, Sir Seun. I profoundly apologize if I come across as being presumptuous or meddlesome. |

Seun:hmmmm, |
| Re: Happy New Year And Welcome To 2026! by Emeka71(m): 9:53am On Jan 03 |
Sandralight:Initially they don't pay moderators back then when this forum was seen as a play thing but now that this forum is becoming a big hub hence the reason to engage and pay moderators and that Romance section is a very busy section and also the Politics section these sections are more busy than the other ones and hence they need extra hands. What to do is frequent participate in this forum especially the Romance section so that when they come up with advert of moderators needed so you can apply and be taken. BTW romance is sweeter than sex. |

Happy New Year Seun. I’m interested in volunteering as a moderator on Nairaland. I’m already an active volunteer moderator with Wikipedia, where I help enforce community guidelines, manage discussions, and maintain content quality. I’m familiar with online community standards, conflict resolution, and fair moderation, and I’d love to contribute my time and experience to keeping Nairaland engaging, respectful, and well-organized.
