Canada didn’t “suddenly turn wicked”. Most of these cases are failed asylum claims and immigration rule violations and once your application is denied, the country will enforce removal. That’s their system.
The sad part is why Nigerians are risking everything in the first place ... no jobs, no stability, weak institutions, zero hope at home. People aren’t running because Canada is paradise… they’re running because Nigeria keeps pushing them out.

déportation doesn’t happen suddenly, at least in Canada. They must have been first issued a departure order to leave within 30days. In most cases, people don't comply, they just carry on with their lives because it takes time before the authorities take further action. Then, they are notified of a removal hearing which could be one year or even more from the date of service of the departure order. When they finally receive the hearing notice with a set date for deportation, they hire a lawyer to fight the removal.
Back to your question, they have a lot of time to dispose off their assets.
The ones I know have been in Canada since 2018-2019, working and saving. Some live very frugally and have built rental houses in Nigeria all those years.

People have always been moving my firend

I do not feel sorry for people being legall deported ... especially our people ... we're al ays too smart. Some know the risk they are taking ... have a low profile ...stay clear of breaking any law that can get them system checked and are aware they are there on borrowed time. It's like doing the crime and prepared to spend the time. Then there are those ...too many ...do not plan ...just to get there and they will find a way then when they get there things are not at all what they were expecting. This is winter ... and this winter is not playing. Now back home .... it is a huge problem for some ...can be a life ending return. Who borrowed money from who and ghosted them? Debt collectors will be waiting.

Going to increase once that new bill passes in the Senate.

All these fake refugee claims and scammers make it harder for the rest of us.

Sad, very sad, Imagine selling your house, car and lands and moving to Canada, only to be deported?
