BIZNess123:The Russians, or the USSR did play a large role in defeating the Nazis, but so did the Americans and the UK 1.USA provided Russia with a lot of equipment , guns , trucks and food (yes food.). So did the UK...via the Arctic convoys. (A lot of sailors from those countries died ) 2.Also, there was the opening up of the second front in 1943 at Italy (done by USA and UK and even including Brazil...yes, Brazil.), North Africa 1942(USA, UK with elements of the Free French), and then D-Day 1944 (USA, UK, Canada)...which in combination with Operation Bagration (kicked off during the same day as D-day) brought the Nazis to their knees 3. UK SIGNIT (Signals intelligence) was very useful to the USSR (they even warned Stalin via Churchill about the impending attack by the Germans in 1942.) I don;t support us, uk or russia or china, but the nazi defeat was a combined effort. |

bigpicture001:The inital events of the soviet war did show that the Nazis did well(and the Soviet Army was weakened , and performed poorly in the 1939 winter war v finland)....but then Stalin brought back Zhukov from the east, and hand off micromanaging the war, and from 1943, things started changing. Also, there were problems..especially in Logistics...from the Wehrmacht point of view. Especially in the disaster at Stalingrad. Finally, the Germans mistreated the conquered people of the USSR in its territory. Nice way to shoot oneself in the foot. |
