The correct number is what the official said. 122. Who is that person saying 112, are you correct in the head or?

The correct number is 112 not 122 , the journalists themselves should have corrected him , this is my issue with our current crop of journalists they are as ignorant as the viewer themselves, it's terrible .
Isn't it more shame that a FRSC officer does not know a 3-digit emergency number offhand?

Reminds me of a Civil Defence Commandant who couldn't tell his organization's website address.

Why should it be the journalist who will correct the official?

Let him take responsibility

Always defending rubbish. So it is the fault of the journalist when an officer of a federal institute gave out an information.

I don’t know whether to laugh or just not comment.

I mean, bro, the blame is now on the journalists? Yhu are Kidding me, right?

For someone who brags about sharing flyers all over Abuja with the emergency number to create awareness—and VDM even dialed the number and was shocked to get an immediate response—how is he now making such a mistake ?
He even went on to say we are used to the network saying, “The number yhu have dialed does not exist, please try again.”

Bro, let’s stop making excuses for people like these. Don’t let us make excuses for those who fail daily at the job they were hired and paid to do.

See how easy it is for yhu to just shift the blame, it tells alot about us as Nigerians.

This is exactly why these guys keep messing up—they know no one will hold them accountable, and someone like yhu will defend them, no matter what.
Good rebuke. Solid

At that point, the FRSC official is the authority regarding the number to dial. The journalists didn't do anything wrong by trusting in his words regarding the emergency number.

But he was correct , google it yourself, 112 is the standard emergency line and 122 is for specific reference for frsc , the number not reachable is not the officers fault it's the telecoms company that should explain why a critical number should be having such issues .

Please ex0lain what the officer did wrong here , the number he gave was it correct or not? Google the number yourself and see , how was it his fault if the number wasn't going thru , shouldn't the journalists have asked the synergy between t3lecom companies and the frsc not trying to make th3 officer look incompetent.

So, the journalist wasn't at fault regarding the number dictated by the FRSC official. That's the point of this discussion. Don't change it to something else!

What exactly is the work of a media house ? Is it not to disseminate accurate info, so if you go to a media house and give false info they will just accept it or fact check you , so you mean to tell me none of them could fact check if :

1. The emergency number given was correct
2, that the drop call was not because the number was false but due to network issues
3. That there is more than 1 emergency number people can call even if the officer didn't state it .

112 is the general emergency number that connects to police, fire service, ambulance, etc.
The direct toll free number to report road related cases such as accidents and recklessly driving is 122. That is supposed to link directly to the FRSC.

112 is national emergency number. Some areas have dedicated numbers like 767 for Lagos state, 122 is dedicated, toll-free hotline for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
