Wike Says He Will Be Buried Politically If Fubara Secures Second Term by SlavaUkraini(op): 1:50am On Jan 04
Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), says his political career would be ruined if Siminalayi Fubara, governor of Rivers, secures a second term.

Speaking on Saturday during a stakeholders’ meeting in Okrika LGA of Rivers state, Wike said a decision has been made on Fubara’s second term ambition.

“We have made a decision as far as Tinubu is concerned. The other one [Fubara] — no way. Because if we make another mistake, then we will go and bury ourselves politically. I will not allow myself to be buried. I will not allow that mistake again,” he said.

“So everybody should know we have made a decision.”

Wike resumed open attack on Fubara after the governor defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) last month.

The FCT minister accused Fubara of breaching the peace agreement reached before the lifting of the emergency rule in Rivers, which paved the way for him to return to office.

On Tuesday, Wike said the “leadership mistake” in Rivers will be corrected in 2027 and promised to reveal the details of the peace agreement that returned Fubara to power.

The FCT minister, in a veiled reference to Fubara, said leaders are meant to serve the people’s will rather than pursue personal interests.

“We will not make the same mistake again at the state level in 2027, but we will talk about it later when the time comes,” Wike said.

‘SUPPORTING TINUBU WON’T SAVE FUBARA’

On Friday, while addressing stakeholders in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA of the state, Wike said Fubara’s support for Tinubu would not help him secure re-election, noting that he had backed Tinubu even before the governor joined the APC.

“If you played well with the first one and succeeded, do you think you can succeed with the second one? There cannot be two markets in one day,” Wike said, in a veiled reference to the peace agreements signed with Fubara.

“So, whoever is assuring you that everything will be fine once you sign on your mandate [Tinubu’s political signature song], you are mistaken.

“All of us have decided to work for Bola Ahmed Tinubu. There is no discussion about that.

“Of course, you know we won’t make the mistake we made last time. We are here to correct the mistake. We will do all we can to ensure that we give Tinubu all the total support that is required.

“Someone [Fubara] who cannot relate with the local government chairmen, state assembly members, and national assembly members. What kind of leadership do you want to provide?”

Wike also responded to Fubara’s New Year remark, in which the governor dismissed his recent comments as “noise”.

Wike said he made Fubara governor despite Fubara not being popular among the people.

It is quite unfortunate that Wike is not aware that he has been buried politically.

As it stands now, he cannot decamp to the APC, if he does, he will be under Fubara and PDP under Seyi Makinde will galvanize to deal Tinubu a deadly blow. Wherein he lost his only assignment.

If he remains in PDP, he has no power to stop Fubara in the APC primaries, where $$ buy votes. As the party leader, Fubara decides the delegates and card carrying members at the primaries. Hope Uzodinma has been 'nominated' to conduct APC primaries in Rivers. Do not ask me how I know.

There is nothing wrong with you being buried politically.

You have served your time and it is time to go, like the others who served before you..

Rivers state is not your father's property and does not belong to you and your children.

Tinubu’s fate in the Southsouth will be sealed depending on how he handles the Wike-Fubara matter. He currently thinks he has both camps because Wike and Fubara appear to be supporting him but he would lose the support of one of the camps as soon as he picks a side. My money is on him to ditch Fubara because a desperate Wike with his back against the wall is a dangerous Wike. Tinubu would want none of that smoke.

Crafty Tinubu is cleverly and surreptitiously
transferring the Rivers structure into
Fubara's corner ahead of neutralizing
Wike's relevancy.

Last last, Tinubu sees wike as unnecessary
luggage and will remove him from FCT
as this year progresses.

It appears WIke became a psychologically
defeated man, since his encounter with
the soja boy 😀😀😀😀

Wike, the drûñkàrd, should accept that he will not remain politically relevant forever and make peace with himself, as he currently lacks peace.

You omitted the most suitable option, "Tinubus inordinate use of state apparatuses for personal ambition". If not because of federal back wike is enjoying fubara would have put him in his place. But tinubu keeps doing the unthinkable including suspending an elected governor to please wike. so that his mysteries millions of votes from rivers ably ochestrated by wike won't vanish. They know what they are doing.

Wike knows he will be damned if Fubara should secure a second term, that's why he is using all the federal might he could muster to ensure that Fubara is kept under him.
Fubara should have continued to behave like mumu until he grabs his second term before he starts to show Wike what he is capable of doing.

Exactly. That encounter decimated that man. In fact everything about his political career took a different turn towards devaluation from that his unfortunate encounter.

The betrayal of either Fubara or Wike by Tinubu will have its own unique ripple effects across the region. Tinubi will have to weigh his options carefully before picking a side. But one thing is sure, he can't have both.

There is limit to everything in life, you had already shown him who is the boss through FG by his suspension for 6 months. He swallowd his pride and constitutional power to respect your wish and execute all your demands immediately he was restored as governor.

It would've be an honour for you to completely shield your sword and allow him to freely concentrate on governance. It is no longer an issue of Gofatherism but state terrorism.

Why is this primitive human always barking. No one embodies the tragedy and primitiveness of Nigeria like he does. Someone that should be a motor park conductor somehow finds himself in powerful public positions. Shame. He has never done any dignified job outside government in his life. He has not contributed anything to the progress of the country aside taking. How will the nation progress with people like him; with this kind of madness dressed like politics.

The FCT Minister,Wike has proven and demonstrated support to PBAT without PBAT having to bargain with Wike.
Gov. Fubara has not shown anything better as proof that PBAT can rely on him and with all the LGA chairmen who are on Wike's side who are already working for PBAT through Wike, what exactly is SIM bringing to the table that's not already there?

I don't know how many valid supporters of Fubara that will be voting ad remember many persons in Rivers State would not tae Fubara's word to vote for PBAT for many don't like APC government whatsoever.

So what magic will Fubara be pulling when in essence the LGA chairmen will actually be doing all the work?
