Yes the performance of Joan Garcia in the Espanyol match was beyond supreme, one of the best goalkeeping performance from a Barcelona goalkeeper. However, let's not get carried away and expect this to be the norm. This should not cover our defensive frailties.

Espanyol sliced us open 7 times in the first half alone and created 3 big scoring chances. This is why we need a leader at the central defensive position.

While Curbasi has been excellent, at 18 years only, it is incredibly difficult job for him to lead the defence for Barcelona at such age. I like that Hansi Flick has identified and spoken openly about the need to sign a CB. An experienced CB at that. Someone who can already start playing and leading that defensive line.
