Russia and China in their foolishness thinks tightening their borders, being racist to none Russians and Chinese, not allowing people from outside their countries to secure their citizenship will make them great to displace America, they should dream on.


Any nation that have strong leadership, strong government institutions that replicate what America did with diversity visa lottery will definitely end up a great nation like America in decades to come.


Any nation that continues to tighten their borders and refuse to allow none indigenes secure their citizenship will remain a one race nation with few ideas, limited talents and a future of uncertainty.


This is the only place Trump is making a mistake; tightening American borders, he should only tighten it for unproductive migrants from extremist countries and allow global talents continue to assemble in the US to keep US as the world superpower for long if not.

There is nothing more spectacularly powerful than any conglomeration of people (be it countries, organisations or other entities) with a blend of diversity and meritocracy. Such a conglomeration would always succeed. The United States is the best example in the modern world.

Nigeria would have been a similar story since we are sufficiently diverse. But the very primitive tribalism and the absence of meritocracy is our albatross.

America became great after World War II. While Europe was devastated, they America was stranding strong then used that as leverage against Europe and the world

Let me add. The freedom for people to aspire, dream and do whatever they want allowed for the development and growth of the USA.

There’s no way you’ll harness the best Brains from all spheres of life, races and tribes and not be better than those that have a closed system.

More reason Obj had the best set of ministers and advisers among all the presidents we’ve had since 1999 is that he harnessed best brains from everywhere and not focus on his tribe or clique.

Without Africa, America will still be great, the key to a great nation lie on the honesty of her citizens and Strategies used in running the country, remember that one of the honest citizens will still become the leader. How do you expect a country like ours to be great, a country where hatred for one and another is order of the day, corruption and so on. We have other great nations like Russia, China, Japan. The problem with Russia is that they lack strategic, same goes to China.

The Chinese worked tirelessly and were maltreated in the US during the 19th and 20th centuries. They were the first to be excluded from the country based on race. Today, China is developed and surging ahead, but sub-Saharan Africa - home to the Black race - is vastly underdeveloped.

While the acceptance of diverse people also contributed to the immense growth in the US, the destruction or failures of other world powers after WW2. So, while other powers were reeling from defeat or economic servitude, the US was the sole rising power that was unhurt. A monopoly of sorts to determine how the world should or would work in its favour.

Nevertheless, the US invested in research and development while adopting largely free market principles. These principles, I believe, propelled investors and innovators to fire on as they believe - rightfully so - that their hard work will be rewarded. Humans gravitate towards places and people who will contribute to their successes. The US proved to be that place, especially as it became diverse. However, the continuous influx of people from diverse places with varying cultural beliefs is stretching the system in that some people do not believe in free market principles, their beliefs should be above others etc.

Additionally, the US prospered as it was racially dominant, with Whites specifically Anglo-Saxons. From my observation, prosperous and developed countries became so because they were or are racially/ethnically homogenous. You mentioned the Chinese accepting immigrants. lol. I put it out that China will start failing should it have an open immigration policy like the US. If the Chinese can achieve what they have without importing immigrants to be a permanent part of their society, why need them now? Anyway, two Chinese dominant enclaves - Singapore and Hong Kong - have implemented immigrant-friendly policies largely because of their British histories. Interestingly, they put up high requirements for aspiring immigrants, such as high-end skills and salaries. Also, in the case of Singapore, it favours ethnic Chinese over other races.

Another benefit that comes with homogeneity is safety. Almost everyone is the same, so they protect their interests. Check across the world: prosperous countries tend to be safe, but prosperous countries that are homogeneous are safer. One major culture/language/religion/belief system. Another factor is promoting critical thinking, especially with mathematics. For a country to prosper - develop and build hard products that sell in the global market - it needs to promote hard-core scientific subjects such as maths, physics and chemistry. This is where I believe the Chinese have a natural advantage, as it makes them critical thinkers and dutiful workers.

Lastly, cultural practices. All cultures are not equal. Some cultures are more equal than others, and this is even in Nigeria. I don't believe that all cultures are equal. Since humans are different and they produce different outcomes, why should the belief be that all cultures are the same? Some cultures promote crude capitalism and profit-taking, others see a sin in excessive profits, while others are laid-back. Some cultures believe in live and let's live, others don't. These cultures manifest themselves in countries across the world, and just as we cannot expect all human beings to be rich, we cannot expect every country to be prosperous.
