Why Nigerians Seeking Trump’s Protection Should Rethink – Lai Olurode by Kingzjayzee(op): 1:11am On Jan 05
A former National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Lai Olurode, has said Nigerians seeking external help over insecurity in the country must draw valuable lessons from the invasion of Venezuela and the seizure of its President, Nicolas Maduro, by the Donald Trump administration of the United States of America.

Olurode, in a statement obtained in Osogbo on Sunday, said those calling on Trump to rescue the Christian population and protect Nigeria should have a rethink.

He said with the invasion of Venezuela, it is obvious that America’s primary concern and motivation “is the control of global energy resources.”

He further said, unlike most of its predecessors in office, Trump does not respect the right of nations to be themselves, adding that “America’s attack on Venezuela and the seizure of President Nicolas Maduro is indefensible on any rational ground.”

The statement further read, “With the invasion of Venezuela and the seizure of its President together with its oil fields, the very notions of sovereignty, tolerance of diversity, and democracy have been reduced to a balderdash.

"It is now evident that America is neither after weapons of mass destruction nor interested in the claim of Christian genocide in Nigeria. America’s primary concern and motivation is the control of global energy resources. Unlike most of its predecessors in office, President Trump does not respect the right of nations to be themselves.

He added, “The notion of sovereignty of nations isn’t in his dictionary. He is desperate to return the world to the era of Darwinism, indeed, the survival of the fittest. The rights of small and weak nations are vulnerable to being trampled upon at will under Trump. Ostensibly, Trump’s target energy resources, but it’s obvious that this is even a smokescreen for global hegemony in knowledge production, communication and culture.

Trump wants to erase diverse lenses of viewing the world. Trump’s philosophical conviction as a realist cannot help but be an impediment to global peaceful coexistence. With Trump’s aggressive behaviour, no country, even in Europe, will ultimately be safe. I thereby call on all civilised nations to join hands in the promotion of civilisation, global peace and the right of nations to govern themselves, and thus the commitment to popular empowerment.

Nigerians who are calling on America to come to Nigeria and rescue its Christian population and protect Nigeria from internal colonialism, should have a rethink. America and its cronies in and outside Nigeria are narrowly for America’s Caucasian population and not the generality of even Americans.

He insisted that America’s attack on Venezuela and the seizure of Maduro remain indefensible on any rational ground.

Re: Why Nigerians Seeking Trump’s Protection Should Rethink – Lai Olurode by HacheNoire:
They don’t need to rethink!

When you consider the quarters it is coming from, you wil always be left with no option than to laugh!

They think fall outs of war or military intervention affects all, and those they despise.

Since the existence of mankind, only the poor and non privileged suffer the consequences of military intervention or war. The rich and privileged , they have all it takes INSTANTANEOUSLY.

Some believe if a war should break out in Nigeria, that the likes of Davido, Wizkid, Flavour and Burna wil be financing and supporting the war🤣🤣🤣

Forgetting that it’s only the poor that will kill the poor!

May my Great ancestors forgive my sins!

Of what benefit is the oil to Niger Deltans really? As a Deltan, I have never benefited anything from oil money except the N550 bursary that former governor Ibru awarded me.
Let America come and manage the oil if that would make Niger Delta look like Texas.

We’re not rethinking anything. The same USA helped Saudi Arabia defeat terrorism. If not Yemen for don ransack Saudi. And they started aramco. The most valuable oil company in the world

Same US the person he is asslicking went cap-in-hand to do bambiallah and collect billions of dollars in aids but no accountability.

The US is a world power whether you like it or not. They must help wipe out all the terrorists, election riggers, drug baron and all the anti-social elements across the world.

Trump himself tried unsuccessfully to overturn an election he lost. He is not different from Maduro because he is a convicted criminal himself.
It is not about Maduro, it is always about stealing Venezuela's oil.

Re: Why Nigerians Seeking Trump’s Protection Should Rethink – Lai Olurode by Nigerianlion(m): 12:03pm On Jan 05
It’s clear many Nigerians calling for Trump’s protection are driven by desperation over insecurity — not because they think the U.S. can easily fix Nigeria’s problems. People want any attention that pressures the government to actually protect citizens. But we must remember that foreign intervention rarely helps long-term and could deepen division here. What we really need is stronger domestic institutions, accountability, and community-led security solutions — not dependence on a foreign leader whose main interest isn’t Nigeria’s welfare.
Re: Why Nigerians Seeking Trump’s Protection Should Rethink – Lai Olurode by Fiscus105(m):
I think you should direct Ur advice to those in positions of authorites, to learn from Maduro capturing.

If you provide quality leadership for the citizens, there won't be infighting and discontentment among the citizens, and Ur citizens will be solidly behind you, so, thre won't be any reason for external forces to leverage on that, to invade your economy assets.

Professor without sense, Prof should tell us why our government isn’t able to provide adequate security of our lives and property.
Re: Why Nigerians Seeking Trump’s Protection Should Rethink – Lai Olurode by dederocs(m): 12:07pm On Jan 05
Nigerians are seeking foreign help out of desperation, they are being killed and kidnapped, they are calling for help to save their existence, their heritage and homeland.

If the Prof want to be logical or reasonable, he should be asking the government why they can't protect Nigerians.

You can't tell a child being beaten not to cry...all these phoney people.

Africa has very few leaders with the ability to think critically?
The question we should be asking is 'who are the terrorists sponsors'
UAE gave us a list of terrorists, nothing happened!
It took America to come bomb terrorists
What type of uselessness is going on here??

This is exactly the problem. If Trump can do it then be assured that others will take it a little further. Soon nothing will stand between you and being taken as a slave again.

Our case is almost similar to Venezuela to be honest. This Christmas would have been unbearable if Trump didn't tweet out about Nigeria and made threats to our government.

This government were ready to allow bandits kill us like animals.
