Last Wednesday was WAEC Chemistry practical in the ongoing WASSCE. For the first time in about 7 or 8 years, I did not present any candidate for the exam. Weird feeling but I am positive. I thank God for growth.

I went into reflection on the years gone by in preparing students for Chemistry practical exams. The story is plenty jare 😃. A part even feels unbelievable.

One year, the students were with me around the lab till 11 PM. This was a boarding school. Another year, I was alone in the laboratory till about 10 PM. Preparing chemicals and arranging apparatuses with phone flashlight.

I am one of the few Chemistry teachers who doesn't give students the end point before or during the exam. Well, that has not in any way negatively affected the student's results over the years. The implication is that, I have to work extra hard to make sure the students perfect the skill in titration.

It's been a journey. I am thankful for growth. Stretching and stressful but the outcome is positive and loud
