Vice President Shettima warned Wike over APC affairs The Vice President has sent a strong message to the minister of FCT by way of responding to his media parleys he held in his own state Rivers State and making a clarification of a state leader by virtue of their status, that in APC, the state governors are the leaders of their states. The Vice President Kashim Shettima who was emphatic in his message to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, stating that Governor Siminalayi Fubara is the leader of the APC in Rivers State. The Vice President made this disclosure in Enugu State during an event he attended in solidarity with the APC in the state. He emphasized that he is the Vice President of Nigeria and the second-in-command both in the country and within the All Progressives Congress, APC . Shettima explained that in his home state of Borno, the leader of the party is the sitting governor, Professor Babagana Zulum. Similarly, although Godswill Akpabio is the Senate President and number three in the nation, Governor Umo Eno remains the leader of the APC in Akwa Ibom State. He further cited Kaduna State, where Governor Uba Sani is the leader of the party, and Enugu State, where Governor Peter Mbah leads the APC structure. According to the Vice President, this principle applies across all states, including Rivers State. Wike has been advised to take note of this clarification in order to avoid unnecessary political complications. As at the time of filing in this report, the FCT minister is yet to respond to the Vice President outburst/statement. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1K2dJJyoyh/

I’ll Be Buried Politically If Fubara Wins Second Term – Wike The Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has claimed that his political career would suffer irreparable damage if Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, secures a second term in office. Wike made the remark on Saturday while addressing stakeholders at a meeting in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State. Although the FCT minister did not mention the governor by name, he warned that a firm decision had already been taken regarding the 2027 governorship contest. Wike said: “We have made a decision as far as Tinubu is concerned. The other one (Fubara’s re-election) — no way. Because if we make another mistake, then we will go and bury ourselves politically. I will not allow myself to be buried. I will not allow that mistake again. “So everybody should know we have made a decision.” The FCT minister has intensified his criticism of Fubara since the governor defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) last month. Wike accused the governor of violating the terms of a peace agreement reached before the lifting of the emergency rule in the state, which enabled Fubara’s return to office. Earlier in the week, Wike said what he described as a “leadership mistake” in Rivers would be corrected in 2027, promising to disclose details of the agreement that restored Fubara to power. “We will not make the same mistake again at the state level in 2027, but we will talk about it later when the time comes,” he said, adding that leaders should prioritise the will of the people over personal interests. https://osundefender.com/ill-be-buried-politically-if-fubara-wins-second-term-wike/

Like I have said severally, Wike needs to calm down and stop fighting the governor. He could attack Fubara and get away with it when Fubara was in PDP. Now that he’s in APC, the party structure will come to his defense. Fubara doesn’t even need to say anything now before high ranking officials are coming to defend. That should tell Wike that it’s time to backdown and restrategize. |

Ability to read the room is an important social skill. Wike has made many powerful and deadly enemies for himself known and unknown. Like play like play he will find himself alone. Politicks is a game of interests. No permanent friend or permanent enemy. |
| Re: Vice President Shettima Warned Wike Over APC Affairs by AMINDA: 6:45am On Jan 06 |
seunmsg:Typical. Now that Wike has delivered his own side of the bargain and courted many enemies while destroying the PDP as agreed, you all are now turning against him. This is becoming a familiar pattern with you all. The only moral lesson anyone can take from this is to never go all out in support of Tinubu. Indeed, no "good deed" goes unpunished. Why accept Fubara into the APC to double cross Wike when Tinubu's signature is on an agreement that he's not coming back? Wike will bring the whole house down like Samson. |

We'll see who's going to win this Fubara and Wike battle. After destroying PDP, let's hope APC will not suffer same fate before 2027. There's something Wike has up his sleeves that worry king Bulaba 🤴 and his 60 governor 😄😁😆 |

It's even wrong to have the Governor automatically becoming the leader of a party. This is the main problem Nigerian parties are having today. Once the Governor is the leader, you will have no check on him. This is why many of them now go for second term ticket untested. Newsdesk President Goodluck Jonathan officially instructed his ministers with political ambitions for the 2015 general elections to resign on October 15, 2014. During a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on that date, he directed those planning to contest for elective offices to submit their resignation letters by October 20, 2014. Key details regarding this event include: The Valedictory Session: A valedictory session was held on October 15 for seven ministers who had indicated they would be leaving to pursue governorship bids. The Ministers Involved: The seven ministers who resigned following this directive included Nyesom Wike (Education), Musiliu Obanikoro (Defence), Labaran Maku (Information), Samuel Ortom (Trade), Emeka Wogu (Labour), Onyebuchi Chukwu (Health), and Darius Ishaku (Niger Delta). Reason for Resignation: The directive was issued to ensure that government officials did not use state resources or machinery to fund or influence their personal political campaigns for the upcoming 2015 elections. Earlier in the same year, on February 12, 2014, President Jonathan had also accepted the resignations of four other ministers, some of whom were reportedly leaving to further their own political interests. |

I support the vice president on this. Wike should go and rest. His time is gone. He should let Fubara breath! Otilor is his name. We warned him , he never listened. Wike should do his best to enjoy 2026 because 2027 will end his career permanently and even he will taste prison. |
| Re: Vice President Shettima Warned Wike Over APC Affairs by johnmartus(m): 7:56am On Jan 06 |
Wike has already been caged. He can't move to other party unless he want to spend the remain of his days in prison...He can't intimidate the governor like before because the foolishness of fubara is paying him back now every eyes is on wike. My advice for wike is that he should calm down and prepare for the primary election. Or even reconcile with fubara and support his second term ambition. |

The mess around Wike went to test in Imo state with Samuel Anyanwu is coming with a huge price. Hope Uzodinma really advised Fubara well to join APC. Now the entire APC structure will protect Gov. Fubara. |

Shettima, Borno is a hotbed of terrorism, but you are shamelessly focusing on politics. What is your take on the terrorism ravaging Nigeria? Just know that your remarks won't change anything in Rivers State. Go and tackle terrorism first. |

SlavaUkraini:Nobody has the capacity to be Wike's friend for a long time. He's too openly combative. Uba sani betrayed El Rufai, did you see the later running helter skelter barking like a mad dog? Kwankwanso got the same dose. There are few more instances too. But they are all calm and restrategizing. None is shouting upandan insulting everyone everyday. If e sure for Wike, let him groom someone else that would give fubara a hot chase for the seat. This noise he's making only serve to distance him from those who were initially sympathetic to him. |

Even though Wike is over reaching himself, the fact is Fugbara is not a trustworthy being. He looks like an arse licker when he wants to get what he wants but will renerge after he gets it. During campaign, he was following Wike like one dum.my only to turn around to bit him not long after he got into power. The report we got was that for peace to reign he should shelve contesting for 2nd term. He agreed and was seen following Wike around during his travail. Suddenly he got an idea of joining the APC not because the president compelled him but because he wants to use that as a spring board to get back to power. Once again he is forming dum.my for APC until he gets to power. I personnaly do not like or trust people like that. If I were left to choose between Wike and Fugbara, I think I wil trust Wike more, in spite of the fact that he can sometimes be over reaching. |
