Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has faulted the Presidency’s handling of public communication, accusing it of prioritising optics over substance at a time Nigerians are grappling with severe economic and security challenges. In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku described the Presidency’s defence of President Bola Tinubu’s recent Paris visit as a glaring example of misplaced focus. According to him, Nigerians battling hunger, rising insecurity, business closures, and a crushing cost-of-living crisis were instead treated to official explanations about photographs, camera phones, and a presidential lunch in Paris. He argued that true leadership is demonstrated by decisive action at home, not by public briefings centred on social engagements abroad. Atiku further noted that public skepticism surrounding the Paris photographs did not arise in a vacuum, stressing that trust in public institutions weakens when credibility issues remain unresolved. “When leadership credibility is eroded, doubt becomes inevitable,” the statement said, adding that attacking the media and citizens only deepens public frustration. The former Vice President maintained that Nigeria is facing multiple emergencies that demand urgent attention, warning that excessive focus on public relations narratives risks widening the disconnect between the government and the people. https://voicenews.com.ng/atiku-faults-presidencys-focus-on-optics-amid-nigerias-deepening-crises/

Tinubus media team would never respond to pressing issues and matters... It's only focus is attending to the props and irrelevant superficial narratives just to make the president look good. Such a good looking package 📦 but with an empty box! |

Tinubu is avoiding commitments by going into hiding abroad. If he want to give up his commitments in order to escape from his duties and responsibilities, then that is not correct. |

But you Atiku don't have the leadership qualities. Ordinary a political party, you couldn't put them together |

Horus:How many times have president Tinubu been out of the country? Have you ever heard any issue whenever he's out of the country? That's the strong leadership we are talking about. None of the opposition leaders are close to president Tinubu in terms of string leadership |

Atiku is a living proof that God does not exist! If God wasn’t fiction, no way thunder wouldn’t have struck him the moment he made that statement. Same Atiku talking about good leadership? Sigh…. |

Agbadorians are celebrating a Paris dinner with Paul Kagame as one of Tinubu's achievements. In contrast, Kagame didn't even deem it fit to mention the meeting with Tinubu. What are Kagame and Tinubu doing in France with Macron if not to discuss tenure elongation. Kagame himself has been ruling Rwanda over 25 years, propped up by Farnce and the West. Tinubu's cosiness with sit-tight keaders like Talon is not a coincidence. |

helinues:Every time Tinubu get a flu he run abroad for medical assistance. Where are the high-standard hospital constructions?. Instead the Nigerian government's official strategy should be to move toward world-class healthcare, not traveling abroad for medical treatments |

Horus:That's the not the point I am driving at. Some president are afraid of travelling abroad not to talk of consistently. That's strong leadership. |
