I don't know if this is the appropriate section for this topic... I want to do a documentary on MOLUE buses and want to know if they're totally scrapped. Like is there anyone left even if it's one and if so, where do they ply. Thanks

I think the question we should be asking is how their past owners scrapped them as I don't see them anymore. Those molues once defined the mainland |

Go to Oshodi, you'll see a lot of them going and coming to and fro Sango, ilepo etc |

The last one I saw was in Lagos on the Oshodi-Lagos/Abeokuta expressway route a few years and my jaws literally dropped in surprise. I think it's safe to say they've completely gone extinct and good riddance to that. |

They have been scrapped. Because I don't see them at Oshodi anymore. Back then they used to ply Oshodi - Sango route. Those market women would put basket of tomatoes in the front with the driver, the driver side didn't have a door, people will load the molue like kilode. To breathe sef go be problem because of different body odour fighting for oxygen with you. And their drives then don't wear shirt, and they don't stop. I used to pursue them at Iyana IPaja to enter, the back conductors will pull you inside as the driver is firing. ![]() They don't have break, as you jump in is how you would jump out when they reach your bus stop. Very anyhow suffer head bus. But they don't exist anymore in Lagos. BRT phased them out. |

| Re: Are There Still Any MOLUE In Lagos? by CaptainFM1: 7:26am On Jan 07 |
If you want to do such documentary, I would expect you to at least visit all the parks in Lagos and speak to the parks chairmen and secretaries. They are the ones that will have adequate information and data that will enhance your documentary. |

| Re: Are There Still Any MOLUE In Lagos? by CJStarz: 7:31am On Jan 07 |
Molue .... the melting point of Lagos life. This bus should be immortalized. |
| Re: Are There Still Any MOLUE In Lagos? by Commentor: 7:32am On Jan 07 |
Kayouzka:It is Tinubu. Tinubu started the BRT lanes. You thought he was constructing them to place molue on them? |
| Re: Are There Still Any MOLUE In Lagos? by Eagleways: 7:33am On Jan 07*. Modified: 10:51am On Jan 07 |
From Oshodi to toll gate through Iyana Ipaja, you will see a lot of them. In the evening, a lot of them load at Ikeja Along. One shocking thing about them is that they hardly breakdown on the road |
| Re: Are There Still Any MOLUE In Lagos? by Nigerianlion(m): 7:35am On Jan 07 |
Seeing Molue still on Lagos roads is pure nostalgia 😄. Those buses carried generations of Lagosians and were the real definition of affordable transport back then. Even with BRT and modern buses now, Molue remains part of Lagos history and culture. Nice to know it hasn’t completely disappeared. |
