You simply hit the nail on the head. I was actually about to answer in your narrative before I saw your wonderful write up. USA is just trying to take back what they invested into the Venezuela Oil industry that was forcefully taken inform of nationalisation.

You know, It's like hijacking FDI ( Foreign Direct Investment) that you have been begging for. Just like Nigeria government taking an erratic decision of nationalizing the foreign investments in Nigeria by enacting a law or adjusting the Constitution to accommodate that.....

That's stealing by Venezuela authority, you can't bring in FDI to develop your oil businesses and other related Industries and later discovered that the foreign investors have done so much In discovering more new vibrant oil wells with their expensive oil equipment and suddenly clam on their investment including the expensive oil equipment by converting them to your own In form of nationalisation.....

It's not right and very unfair to those major oil companies from the US that developed Venezuela Oil Industry such as Mobil, Chevron etc...... I guess it's a payback period for Venezuela and lucky for them, they wouldn't feel the heat one bit because they have not been enjoying the proceed of Oil in the recent past since Hugo Chavez and Maduro presidency.... But that's about to be turned around for the benefits of the Venezuela people.
