The guy was careless period..if u are a trained driver ,u should know that u can only overtake a vehicle infront if and only if there's no obstruction in your front expect the vehicle u are about to overtake...but otherwise u should slow down and fall in line until you are free to overtake...running into a stationery truck is the height of negligence as far as driving is concerned....I just pity the man sha...because AJ is just lucky he's sitting at the back of the drivers seat...because is only natural for the driver to try at all cost to save his own life during this kind of chaos

he said the brake failed. The burden has shifted to the police to prove that it wasn't brake failure...you and I know the police can never uncover that ... The man will be set free, they will only waste his time in court.

Having a fatal accident without a driver's license in Nigeria is a criminal offence with penalty up to a life sentence.

Dangote trucks do almost uncountable havoc, killing people, destroying properties quite often. We hardly hear of justice meted out to those involved or their family, while those drivers are hardly ever heard about being brought to book, at anytime.

Selective justice isn't okay. AJ' friends lives are precious, so are those that are being killed or permanently maimed by trucks

Nigeria did actually happened to AJ because he hired a driver with no license to drive him knowing fully well that they'll get away with it from officials, because no police or other checkpoints can stop them. I understand the trauma AJ would be going through now

Having or not having drivers license doesn't cause accident. Accident can happen to even the most experience driver.
Didn't you heard he has been driving AJ for three years. If he doesn't know how to drive AJ wouldn't have continue to use him

When you punch someone and your punch kills them, that's manslaughter. You didn't plan to kill them but you did. In his case, it's involuntary because he could've also died, he couldn't have intended to kill himself unless otherwise proven, he was being reckless with everyone's life including his, so I'd say involuntary.

It's like someone who takes weed to get high and
also gives their friends, which results in someone's death. It's involuntary.

With your semantics, you're correct.
But in law, there's nothing like Involuntary Manslaughter. Every killing falls under either Murder or Manslaughter except Suicide.
Deaths resulting from motor accidents - maybe due to reckless driving, tyre burst, brake failure etc are treated as Manslaughter.
Even if a pedestrian crossing carelessly was knocked down and he/she dies, the drive will still be changed for manslaughter.
Voluntary Manslaughter is simply Murder!
