Many public transport drivers don't even when last they updated their driver's license while don't even have any.

These are the people that contribute greater percentage of our road accidents and lost of lives of innocent and poor passengers.

Unfortunately, no one care many because they not AJ or because they never make it.

This guy will be used to make bad example not even to Nigerians alone but to show the world that we have LAW
Hahahaha, this is one of the hilarious statement I have heard ever.
What concerns updating or renewing of drivers license and accident.
So someone that has been driving for over 10yrs, if he update or renew his license, he will now have new experience and won't have accident.
I keep saying this, license or no license doesn't cause accident. I have seen experience drivers with license have accident while they're some that doesn't have license for years and haven't had accident.
.
I for one is an example. In my 20yrs of driving, I did drivers license of 3yrs thrice. That's 9yrs out of 20yrs. That means I drove some 11yrs without license, and I can beat my chest that I haven't had any major accident apart from normal scratches during traffic or hold up or brake failure hitting another vehicle minorly.
So you see, no be by drivers licenses even though it's important sha

I would have loved to know what really happened.

No one has really told us how the accident happened, what caused it or led to it.

I only heard a video interview of an eyewitness who said it was another vehicle that caused the accident and that it escape but even the eyewitness didn't say how or what the escaped vehicle did that caused the accident.
He said the brake failed..

He has been driving him for years , not just last year.

Note, among other checks, Renewal certifies if your eyes are still effective enough for driving. Some illiterates too dont understand 80% of road signals and makings too. During renewal, they are educated.
Do we still value human lives in nigeria.
And Yes, its very important you renew, failure to do, legally means you are unauthorised to drive, 60 years experienced or 3 years. Law is law, especially after an incident that involves life or injury.

If you're talking about someone being old, I may agree with you. But talking about someone below 50 and have been driving for years, license or no license won't determine if he will have accident or not. Except he's blind or partially blind

The guy was careless period..if u are a trained driver ,u should know that u can only overtake a vehicle infront if and only if there's no obstruction in your front expect the vehicle u are about to overtake...but otherwise u should slow down and fall in line until you are free to overtake...running into a stationery truck is the height of negligence as far as driving is concerned....I just pity the man sha...because AJ is just lucky he's sitting at the back of the drivers seat...because is only natural for the driver to try at all cost to save his own life during this kind of chaos
Same guy you’re talking about had been Anthony’s driver for three years. So you mean he’s been driving recklessly for three years?
So why try to make him the scape goat? Because him no get money abi?
Same script Davido played against his late son’s nanny because na poor man pikin.
If to say the driver die, una for go arrest him family members?

Na only God go help us for this country the way many of una dey reason.

That Lexus SUV having a brake failure should be recalled.
Lexus has a question to answer. Unless the Lexus was bought as used vehicle, which I wouldn’t expect from AJ.

Thanks, we're educating ourselves!
With your semantics, you're correct.
But in law, there's nothing like Involuntary Manslaughter. Every killing falls under either Murder or Manslaughter except Suicide.
Deaths resulting from motor accidents - maybe due to reckless driving, tyre burst, brake failure etc are treated as Manslaughter.
Even if a pedestrian crossing carelessly was knocked down and he/she dies, the drive will still be changed for manslaughter.
Voluntary Manslaughter is simply Murder!
You're correct (about no involuntary manslaughter) if you're speaking entirely about Nigerian law. In other countries like the UK, US, Canada, Australia and so on, involuntary manslaughter is fully recognized. Also, just to correct some impression, while involuntary manslaughter is covered inside "manslaughter" in Nigeria, demonstrating that it's involuntary will contribute towards reducing the person's sentence, from the maximum end of the punishment to the lower end of the punishment, based on the judge's discretion.

Government no dey ever accept blame for their own failure, but dem go rush jail poor driver sharp sharp.

That motor don park for road many days, weeks, even months before the deadly accident happen.

Police no try at all to remove the motor, even when e clear say e be danger to other road users.

Road bad well well, no light, darkness just dey swallow everything.

Na so we dey do am—system sleep, poor man pay the price. History on repeat, same song, different verse.

This driver should just be free, let God Almighty take control becos is the judge of all chief judges.
The innocent driver should not just be punished for unknown occurrence to avoid another unseen occurrence, only God know what happened, that is why destiny exist.

The only matter I see here is driving without a licence , how on earth did he not have a licence.

As for the other stuff , they just want to make him a Scape goat because of the personality involved .

Yeah he was a bad driver but then it's an accident.

If it was AJ behind the wheels will they charge him?

Accident is defined as an unfortunate incident that happens unexpectedly and unintentionally, typically resulting in damage or injury.

However, there are steps that could be taken to avert or prevent accidents. Driving without a valid driver's license, driving recklessly, overtaking indiscriminately and overspeeding is not accidental; it is deliberate. And those are the things the driver is being charged for, not the accident.

Over speeding is like solving complex mathematics... How can you be doing above 140km/hr without calculation...

Driving anything above 100km/hr requires your full body attention on the road..

I see some people doing 120km/hr and above making calls while driving...

The vehicle is already Light on wheels when doing anything above 100km/hr..

Even a small stone or bumps can throw away your vehicle off road ...

This accident is clear overspeeding nothing anybody fit tell me...

OverSpeeding and absent mindness.. killed those passengers.

because he has no money they will use him as a scapegoat.

The owner of the abandoned truck is chilling now.

The drivers mistake was not having a drivers license. Who recommended him to Joshua cos this is not one of his security escort drivers.
