DeepSight:One of the stories in the Torah features such a scenario but trust them to condemn the Asclepius staff because it doesn't follow their favoured narrative. |

QuinQ:Tacitus mentioned a "Christ" which was a title in use before your Jesus. Many figures (real or imagined) had been called "Christ" before anybody heard of your Jesus, so Tacitus could have been talking about anybody |

QuinQ:You think you're talking to someone with no knowledge of history? What exactly did Tacitus say? Where's your primary source? Again, be informed that before your Jesus, Ptolemy 1 Soter called himself "Christ" about 300 BC. So, if Tacitus mentioned a "Christ"; could it be he was talking about Ptolemy Soter? |

QuinQ:why the courtesy copy? have I said anything different? |
| Re: Why Is Jesus Not Included In Academic History Books? by DeepSight(m): 7:41pm On Jan 07 |
QuinQ:+ He didn't mention Jesus by name, rather as "Christus" and said he was executed by Pilate. Notably he was referring to the origin of the term "Christian." He wrote a century after the claimed birth of Jesus of Nazareth, and was talking about the great fire of Rome under Nero and the persecution of Christians. By the time he was writing, the claims of who was the founder of the Christian sect would have been his reference. That the said Christus was executed, is not my particular dispute or contest, nor do I say such a character never existed, but for me, it is open to contestation. Certainly, there were many different people with elements of the Jesus story in their lives at the time. |

sonmvayina:Stop confusing yourself. Jews know who was being referred to - that's why they took that chapter out of their Bible! |

| Re: Why Is Jesus Not Included In Academic History Books? by QuinQ: 7:46pm On Jan 07 |
sonmvayina:When did it happen? You are the one arguing. Ask Jewish scholars then SHOW where it said the servant was Israel |

QuinQ:But God already said his servant is Israel.....why are you arguing? read that Isaiah 45:1-7 or 41:1-9 God said his servant is Israel... |

QuinQ:lol...something you are ignorant about, |
| Re: Why Is Jesus Not Included In Academic History Books? by QuinQ: 7:52pm On Jan 07 |
DeepSight:Jesus was almost totally unknown except by the few close to him. He was only known in retrospect after Christianity was somewhat established. So it is easy to say anything writen about him didn't refer to him! |

QuinQ:Now you are talking. sonmvayina just love aimless arguments Himself, his Jewish landlord and atheist friends were like first century antagonists trying to silence young kids who were saying: “Blessed is the one coming as the King in Jehovah’s name! Peace in heaven, and glory in the heights above" Luke 19:38 Jesus told them: “I tell you, if these (children) remained silent, the stones would cry out.” Luke 19:40 Why? Because Jesus is God's only begotten Son who doesn't need historians to get his messages across the globe! ![]() |
| Re: Why Is Jesus Not Included In Academic History Books? by QuinQ: 7:55pm On Jan 07 |
sonmvayina: sonmvayina:You are arguing something that is long settled. This was a long-running argument between Jews and Christians - and Christians won because Jews removed the chapter from their Bible! |

QuinQ:+ That's also precisely why its easy to create legends about him. |

MaxInDHouse:+ 1. Whose son are you 2. Who are those referred to as the sons of God in the book of Job. |

MaxInDHouse:Cc musicwriter, sonmvayina, you KNOW Jesus is alive because of personal experience with him! No one needs to tell those dealing with demonic attacks that Jesus is alive, and that demons tremble at mention of that name! You only have mouth because you're not dealing with any supernatural attacks! |

QuinQ:+ Lol. Who do you think Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, Judaists, Taoists, Shintoists, Traditionalists call on when in similar moments of terror, whatever that terror may be, mental or emotional? Keep joking. |
| Re: Why Is Jesus Not Included In Academic History Books? by QuinQ: 8:09pm On Jan 07 |
DeepSight:Not son in the human sense. How can you have a son without a wife. He's a part of God that has always been with God |
| Re: Why Is Jesus Not Included In Academic History Books? by DeepSight(m): 8:10pm On Jan 07 |
QuinQ:+ Special pleading. In the Bible, he expressly denies being God over and over again. Are those referred to as sons of God in the book of Job also sons in the human sense? |
| Re: Why Is Jesus Not Included In Academic History Books? by QuinQ: 8:10pm On Jan 07 |
DeepSight:Nobody. They just suffer - why Christians are so lucky to have Lord Jesus! |
| Re: Why Is Jesus Not Included In Academic History Books? by QuinQ: 8:12pm On Jan 07 |
DeepSight:Yet they killed him precisely for claiming to be God John 10:33 The Jews answered Him, “We are not going to stone You for a good work, but for blasphemy, because You, a mere man, make Yourself out to be God.” |

QuinQ:+ How old are you and have you ever travelled to the Middle East or Asia, or indeed within Africa outside Nigeria. No insult intended. Just asking. |
| Re: Why Is Jesus Not Included In Academic History Books? by DeepSight(m): 8:14pm On Jan 07 |
QuinQ:+ Many have made that claim. Olumba Olumba Obu springs to mind. So does Abd Ru Shin. However I can cite numerous verses where Jesus denied being God. |

DeepSight:Jesus is the ONLY BEGOTTEN SON of the one and only true God. So he totally differs from all other beings!🙂 |
