MarketDispatch:.... The UK approach where you dispense first then pay afterwards is only possible because of ANPR (Automatic number plate recognition) technology. Once you enter the petrol station your plate number is recorded on the garage CCTV, and if you leave without paying this information is passed on to the police and classified as theft, a statutory offence of making off without payment. |

SamuraiXXX:.....Oga it is not possible, the machine checks your atm card to ensure you have enough money to cover your fuel cost, and it will only dispense to a limited amount. In the UK you insert your atm card into a pad and also punch in your pin number, and the machine indicates that it can dispense to a maximum of £100, which also means you have a minimum of £100 in your account. |

lordm:Use ya brain and prepare for all use cases. Not to go around doing chochocho. For example, a driver seeing his fuel gauge showing half tank can input e.g 80k amount only to discover the tank is full after dispensing 70k. The extra 10k goes where? Your pocket abi. E get why God give pipo brain. Use am. |

anonimi:Worst is that APC government at all levels no longer talk or budget for provision of pipe borne water to Nigerians. APC government operatives believe it's right for families to sink private water boreholes sharing same location with septic tanks. Septic tank? More than 40 years ago, Europe stopped use of Septic tanks in compounds, and introduced sewerage system. APC is a political party led by people like late Muhammadu Buhari who are rather still struggling for a country to be governed with Sharia criminal laws, not interested in modernity |

Christistruth00:It isn't really as much corporate greed as it is national misplaced priority to import expensive automated systems instead of employing people to do the job, while educating them to create such systems locally. |

In developed and advanced countries When the government introduce ideas That takes jobs away from the citizens The also introduce leverages, aids and different type of subsidies To help reduce suffering of the people But in Nigeria We are left to survive anyhow And you surprise whey crime is always on a rise |

uvie66:Yes, I will expect this one to have such safety nets too. It’s a learning process. Previously, I used to buy petrol on credit with a low balance in my card. Then when money comes into account it is deducted. But, it seems some people never get to pay back through their accounts, that’s why ASDA changed that to minimum of £100 in account. |

I feel sorry for the jobs that would be taken. This will definitely work. The tech would most likely operate on a point of Sale framework. Pay for fuel before dispensing.. |
