Brother, I am a first class engineering graduate, some 11 years ago.
The truth is, gone are those days when you see “dull” rich men kids. The reality is, even those with connect are now very very good.
I work in a multinational where I coach a lot of graduates. Brother, I get maximum results from those rich kids who did private universities (Nile University etc).
The rich are now wiser, they don’t joke with exposure. I was recently at NSIA where I had a session with their young recruits, mostly rich men kids, brain, world-class & top-notch.
A good working place is a leveler. Lesson is, we just have to do much for our children to catch up.
Brother, I think you are missing my point, if these guys are smart as people keep claiming, why don't we see the impact?.

Ok, let's say, their impacts are too big for ordinary citizens to see or analyze. I know even abroad smart people get recommended to positions etc. But honestly the number of these 'smart' people who mostly only get jobs to recommendations from elites is suspicious.

Unless for some specific specials skills or acumen which are not available locally, Nigerian graduates should be allowed to compete fairly. We need to give the average Nigerian a chance, they need to feel like citizens.

Most of them are extremely brilliant walahi, only an handful of them are dull. There's this guy Khalil, he's in his late 30s then, he used to head an agency(KADIPA) created by elrufai during his tenure in Kaduna, that guy is from an elite family in Kaduna. When you hear that guy speak and analyse things ehn, very intelligent and we'll informed guy. Recommendations happen all over the world.
Lol! Omoh! I connected with him on LinkedIn around 2018/19 when he was rounding up his NYSC. I was shocked when I later saw he had become a director at KADIPA, and not long after, he became the ES. Interestingly, his brother is also the head of a leading crypto foundation in Africa. Omoh!

He’s now the PA to a governor in the North, I can’t recall the state. See connection naw

If u all think the rich kids are that intelligent, why the slot thing. Throw the recruitment open and allow everybody compete let's check something.
It's not by a rich kid getting a first-class from a private university, most of them will not even smell a 2nd class if they go through a public university. Don't judge any poor man by his degree wen life didn't avail them equal opportunities.
Truth is life is hard for the common man in Nigeria. The worst is not the politicians diverting all the job slots, the worst is the people telling the poor man that the rich man's kid who got the job without advert, exam or interview is more qualified than the poor man.

i have been privilege to be in a private university setting, the truth is, children of the elite are very sound and well exposed, anyone saying those elite kids getting job by connection are not smart enough is actually not informed, I have a whole lot of them, and they're at the top of their career, brain with connection, let's remove sentiment, most of our pains are just based on the fact that a common ground for recruitment process is scarcely feasible in most top notch government agencies because the elite has secured the slot for their children leaving the ordinary Nigerian jobless, and that is the pain of the average Nigerian youth, but never you imagine they're not equal to the task those guys are sound I must confess. We pray for a system that will create a common ground for both the average and elite to compete for career and power.

The truth is that the quality of education dished out or delivered in some of these institutions is so appaling, it's an apology

Very shambolic.
How can you make a student go through a whole 4 years without making a presentation except project thesis defence and seminar?

Excursion? Industrial training, and stuff like that nonexistent, very shallow, outdated, obsolete,

Oh what of the hands on practicals? Jesus wept 😭 let me not go there

Problem of public schools is the wickedness not an other thing. What use are those foolish borrowed courses?😁
I could remember some of our seniors failing Maths 101 (a course 1 credit unit). Lecturer is telling students to answer 3 questions in exam for such units, isn't that wickedness?

Slot sharing is the result of many graduates. When we had lesser graduates, we heard FG/Firms were forcing people to take jobs at their organizations.
Our parents used to enjoy free meals in school then, how about today?
We don't have enough working institutions to hug graduates.
Let's look at reality.. Rich fellows who are meant to open Firms or Companies are busy splashing funds on irrelevant things..
Let's hope this tax reform reshape our billionaires

Deep down you know it's fake news, but you're still trying to convince yourself that it's authentic.

Perfectly said......Imagine that after the poor man's child has gone through the wickedness of the public school he is still not given an opportunity to compete for job not to talk of testing his quality.....another wickedness right. Then someone comes to tell the poor guy that the rich kid who got the job is better than him and would beat him if given the opportunity. I'm still asking what is the crime of the poor man's child?

Bragging on top empty brain.
The quality of education in the public university is not the fault of the poor student but a deliberate failure of the government who intends to reserve quality education for their children alone. Surprisingly sir/ma you are blaming the victim while exonerating the oppressor. Trust me no poor man that can afford a private university will send his child to a public university where even the lecturers are enemies of the poor student.

Sorry bro 🙏🏽
Is not that I am blaming the victim
This was done to register my displeasure. And then again most of the victim do not know the extent to which the standard has been bastardized and declined.
The whole thing is just unfortunate and really annoying

I now understand the angle u are coming from and like u rightly said it's unfortunate. I have seen a lot of brains that have wasted cotcee of poverty. Hopefully one day we will get it right, We will have a country of empathy where no one is seen as less human because of their social status.

Loll, book dull and office smart are very different things, her supposed “gigantic ass” may have played a role but I’m sure she wasn’t the only one with such, so let’s not reduce where she is to that assertion, one can be book intelligent and lack manners and trust me, nobody will want to have them around, gigantic ass or not
Omuka1:
I swear very dull but she has a very gigantic ass, I'm thinking is what gave her the opportunity because she served in Nimasa, and she was retained.

Are they recruiting because I messaged the rep representating our ughelli and the udu constituency Hon. Francis waive some time back In October he told me that they have not started recruiting.
But it seems like they retained the general hospital staffs that is being used at the temporary site.
Have you heard anything new from them?

Very Apt.
It's funny how people seem to think children of the elite don't do well.
Thank God you have witnessed it first hand.

Back off a little, you know? I know it's frustrating, you really want to know what's happening so you don't miss out but calm down first, figure out how'll you'll get back in the good books of your connect rn. Everything will flow according after that.

I didn't hear anything, I saw a screenshot of a WhatsApp group called FMC ovwian new recruits. That's why I'm wondering and asked if there is anything going on.

Nobody is saying the kid from the rich background privileged to have attended the best of institutions with maximum exposure is better than the kid who attended public institutions, all we are saying is, the child of the common man should stop thinking they are better than kids from rich background.

My advice to the children of common man like me is to upskill, get so good in a valuable skill, that organisations will come looking for you.

By the way, Dangote had every opportunity to join the public service but he chose entrepreneurship, today he is one of the biggest employer of labour in Nigeria.

On a final note, there are some people who are into remote jobs paying them millions monthly, what would such people do with government jobs.

Please search for Fike Adaba online and see what that woman has achieved in a short period of time, then ask yourself which Nigerian government agency can pay her right now.

Take me for an example, I so much love to work for the NIA or DSS but these jobs are based on recommendations, does it mean because I can't get recommended, I am disenfranchised?

Our major concern should be ourselves, don't bother about how some people got things, cos grace speaks for so many people.
