Sack Wike Or Face Nationwide Protests— APC Leaders Issue Ultimatum To Tinubu by Antoeni(op): 6:28pm On Jan 08
Leaders within the All Progressives Congress have issued a stark warning to Bola Tinubu, demanding the immediate removal of Nyesom Wike as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory for anti-party activities or risk facing sustained nationwide protests.
The call came from groups including the APC Leaders Forum and the Tinubu/Shettima Solidarity Movement, who staged a peaceful rally in Abuja on Wednesday and later took their demonstration to the party’s national secretariat.

In an open letter addressed to Tinubu through the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, and signed by figures such as Chief Dr. Emeka Okoro, Dr. Adekunle Balogun, Alhaji Ibrahim Yusuf, and Mallam Abdulkareem Isiaka, the coalition accused Wike of insubordination, repeated attacks on the party’s national leadership, and actions that threaten national unity.

The grievances center on remarks Wike allegedly made during a visit to Oyigbo Local Government Area in Rivers State on January 5, where he sharply criticized APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru for what he described as interference in the state’s politics.

Wike reportedly warned that meddlers would “get their fingers burnt” and declared Rivers a “no-go area” for certain political actors, statements the groups interpreted as a direct challenge to Tinubu’s authority and a potential incitement to unrest in the Niger Delta region.

The protesters emphasized that Wike, who is not a registered member of the APC despite serving in its government, lacks the standing to interfere in party affairs while benefiting from a ministerial position.

They described his conduct as a brazen assault on the APC’s hierarchy and a danger to stability in Rivers State, where political tensions have simmered since Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s defection to the APC late last year.

Fubara, once seen as Wike’s protégé, has increasingly aligned with the ruling party, drawing support from figures like Basiru and prompting renewed friction.

The letter and rally underscored the groups’ loyalty to Tinubu and his Renewed Hope Agenda, including preparations for his re-election bid.

They insisted that no individual should be considered bigger than the party or the nation, warning that failure to act decisively could deepen internal divisions and undermine the APC’s electoral prospects.

The demonstrators vowed to escalate their actions, extending protests state by state and local government by local government until Wike is relieved of his appointment.

This development reflects escalating pressure within the ruling party over Wike’s role in Rivers politics, even as the former governor has repeatedly reaffirmed his support for Tinubu.

The situation highlights the delicate balance Tinubu must maintain amid competing loyalties ahead of future elections.

Even if you theatrically strip Tinubu of every vote from Rivers State and gift them wholesale to Pitobi, the arithmetic still refuses to cooperate. Obi remains firmly in third place, while Tinubu still clears the constitutional hurdle of the two-thirds spread.

So the melodrama about Rivers State deciding the election is just that, melodrama. By the numbers, Rivers State doesn’t crown winners, and it certainly doesn’t hand anyone the moral megaphone to rewrite the outcome. Arithmetic, it turns out, is stubbornly unimpressed by wishful thinking.

It’s APC fighting APC, using public noise to settle internal battles. If Wike is to be removed, it won’t be by placards, but by presidential decision.

Which nationwide protest? I hope APC is not banking on other Nigerians to join them in their protest.

You can't authorize crushing of the poor masses who protested against this government's inhumane treatments and expected them to join you.
Re: Sack Wike Or Face Nationwide Protests— APC Leaders Issue Ultimatum To Tinubu by Antoeni(op): 8:53pm On Jan 08
President Bola Tinubu used Wike to destroy the PDP, the party that made him who he is, and now they have chosen Sim Fubara over Wike.

As it stands:
Wike has no place in the APC.
Wike has no place in the PDP.
Wike has no place in the ADC. Soon, they will declare that he has no place in Tinubu's cabinet.

If Wike attempts to oppose Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027, they will deploy the EFCC to intimidate him, as usual

My advice to Wike is for him to form M5 against the APC in 2027 as FCT minister just the same way he formed G5 against the PDP in 2023 as a Governor, since he likes forming rebellious groups of number 5.

Jonathan the weakling asked his Ministers to resign if they wanted to contest in the next elections and join politics.

Tinubu the strongman cannot reign in his Ministers to resign if they want to face politics.

Life is wonderful. None of Obasanjo's Ministers dare play politics when he was the Boss. You don't need to go far to know who gives Wike the relevance. A president who is more interested in politics than governance.

Newsdesk
President Goodluck Jonathan officially instructed his ministers with political ambitions for the 2015 general elections to resign on October 15, 2014.
During a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on that date, he directed those planning to contest for elective offices to submit their resignation letters by October 20, 2014.

Key details regarding this event include:

The Valedictory Session: A valedictory session was held on October 15 for seven ministers who had indicated they would be leaving to pursue governorship bids.

The Ministers Involved: The seven ministers who resigned following this directive included Nyesom Wike (Education), Musiliu Obanikoro (Defence), Labaran Maku (Information), Samuel Ortom (Trade), Emeka Wogu (Labour), Onyebuchi Chukwu (Health), and Darius Ishaku (Niger Delta).

Reason for Resignation: The directive was issued to ensure that government officials did not use state resources or machinery to fund or influence their personal political campaigns for the upcoming 2015 elections.

Earlier in the same year, on February 12, 2014, President Jonathan had also accepted the resignations of four other ministers, some of whom were reportedly leaving to further their own political interests.

No One in His Right Mind Will Allow Wike Become President. He Lacks The Temperament, Patient or Temerity to Lead nigeria. The APC Must Do Everything to Protect Fubara From Falling. The Speaker RSHA iss promised The Seat of Government of Rivers Hence This Renewed Rigor to Unseat fubara.

Many of you are ignorant. Fubara is not the problem. The problem is Nyesom Wike.

Whoever Wike brings, he will still have problems with the person.

Wike is overbearing and greedy.

If he cannot control someone like Fubara, who appears weak, who else can he control?

The ones playing “boy-boy” to get the ticket and become governor will do worse to him.

Nobody will ever take the nonsense that Fubara has taken from Wike.
Re: Sack Wike Or Face Nationwide Protests— APC Leaders Issue Ultimatum To Tinubu by Flets: 12:36am On Jan 09
The fact is that Tinubu and Wike will part ways sooner or later. Tinubu is to make that call but it will be definitely be a hard call

Aligning with Wike will mean lots of disgruntled elements in APC national leadership and loyalty concerns with APC governors. The Rivers people might fight back at the poll and if Fubara is not fully on the side of the president, 2023 type of rigging might not be possible. Besides, Rivers is not as critical as it was in 2023 because all other SS states are in the bag for APC.

Aligning with Fubara will mean that Tinubu risks leaking of 2023 rigging secrets among other prior acts between Tinubu and Wike. The extent the damage will cause to Tinubu’s 2027 mandate is yet to be determined but not expected to have significant impact as Wike has grown national apathy for himself. Infact, Tinubu might endear genuine voters if he openly goes after Wike and he has the apparatus of the state to shut him up or make him politically irrelevant

At the end irrespective of what Tinubu decides in this case, Wike will fight Tinubu and APC leadership like he has always done his entire life…… the question is When?

Wike is a very toxic self centered politician. His presence in any party will always bring calamity upon it.

The wise thing Tinubu should do is to partways with Wike if he actually needs 2027 so badly.
