It was an igbo coup, pure and simple however you are free to mull over it till the end of time but it changes nada.

It's not an Igbo coup. Igbo people did not do any town hall meeting to agree on a coup. It's a few military boys coup. They don't represent the value of their ethnicity.

In every coup, the majority of those who plan and execute it are usually from a particularly section of the country

Diya's attempted coup was no different except that it was nipped in the bud at the 11th hour

Had Abacha not died, Obasanjo, Diya, Olarenwaju, Adisa and Fadipe would all have faced televised execution

You think it would have been easy to do that? Do you know the population of Yoruba in the country and their influence across the world?. Actually it was reported that the US President called Abacha and urged him not to kill Diya and co. Remember too that Obasanjo was convicted of treason and Abacha was not able to execute him

There's never been anyone was found guilty of coup plotting in Nigeria that was not executed. The only thing that saved the necks of Obasanjo, General Diya, General Olarenwaju, General Adisa, Major Fadipe etc is that Abacha died shortly before they were to executed.

Had it not been for that. You would have been watching old videos of their 1998 execution on YouTube today
