There was a guy in Port Harcourt many years ago

He was rich

Not a politician

He was a genuine business man with contracts with oil companies based on indigene status

At the time he had a massive compound with many buildings for his different wives and staff
He died early maybe 60 or so
Met one of his kids in London hustling
Said his father's wealth was under dispute, court case. etc. He had not received anything and did not know if he would
He sold his car and other belongings and Japa

Till now ownership of building not resolved
Things started to be looted till at some point no one was living there

I remember thinking

When the man built it what did he imagine would happen when he dies


It is important to consider that before buying even the smallest land

In a normal Country, you will pay millions yearly in property taxes but not in Nigeria where thieves are everywhere claiming to be politicians.
