A public affairs analyst, Frank Tietie, says President Bola Tinubu must be advised to wash his hands off the Rivers State crisis.


Tietie made this call on Friday while responding to questions in an interview on Arise Television monitored by DAILY POST.

His comment is coming against the backdrop of the renewed political crisis in Rivers state where on Thursday the State House of Assembly began impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara.


The State Assembly accused Governor Fubara and his Deputy of breaching the peace agreement brokered by President Bola Tinubu.

Reacting, Tietie said, “I think it is morally, politically, and legally wrong to involve President Tinubu in the Rivers crisis. His involvement seems to be doing more harm than good.


“Nigeria must be a country that thrives on principles and precedents; we must test our democracy, and this Rivers case should be left to unfold without presidential interference.”

Was the agreement for Fubara to do only one term not brokered and signed in his presence? Why should a oresident be a party to such undemocratic agreement? Tinubu is the leader of the APC. Fubara is in APC, will he defend his party man or do anti party to save Wike who's not an APC member?

It is too late, his hands are already tied up in the Rivers State crisis.

Why would PBAT wash his hands of it?
Minister Wike is a member of his executive cabinet and an ally while Governor Fubara is a member of his political party.
As the leader of both men would he fold his hands and watch them create chaos in River state?

He didn't engineer nor instigate it, he simply cashed in on Wike's greed and stupidity. His major interest has always been getting Rivers into APC.

The only person being used is Wike. Fubara was simply bullied because he is both desperate and seeking revenge against Wike.

We all hate godfathers, but when u dine with the devil, u must adhere to his rules, the only reason that clueless Fubara is governor of the great Rivers state today is singlehandedly because of Wike.

He cannot have his cake & eat it too, then furthermore bite the hand that made u king.

Ambode tried same in Lagos State after becoming governor, they removed him immediately, no second term for him.

Exactly,the first impeachment that he saved Fubara from,we know what the oppositions said.

Fubara has not done half of what Wike did to those that helped him climb the lather, and he's panting like this.
Even now he's pushing his own candidate in Imo State against the interest of the incumbent Hope Uzodinma; let someone try that in River State let's see how Wike will cry bitter!!
