I always say this... when you make cost comparisons amongst countries, place it side by side with the minimum wage per hour or month. If you do that, you'd see that of the US is cheapest. That for Nigeria is the most expensive.

The original source included costs of so many other products like beef, bread, milk, rice, petroleum and others.

The point was to show how Nigerians earn the lowest income yet still pay the price of first world countries, but instead of some of you to look at things critically, you would rather argue and refuse to see the point being made.

Price of chicken or any meat depends on the part you are buying as they are priced differently.
Eg,its very hard to see chicken feet and when you finally found it, it is damn very expensive.

That's exactly what was done in the original source. Check it out, it's more detailed and the comparison goes beyond just chicken but also other food products, energy, wages and purchasing power of the wages!

Some part of beef is very expensive eg beef ribs and ribeye.

In naija market, you can just tell a butcher to cut 1kg of beef or chicken for you. That does not happen abroad. Diff parts are sold differently.

The picture you posted sell a bigger one around £15 in aldi.
Inside it is chicken breast of 12 or more frommore than 6 birds. How can you make this comparison?

Why can't we make comparison? The original post stated this was for fresh whole chicken.

In ibadan it's between 4800 to 5200. I bought from two separate customers in Xmas and new year.

You're just being mendacious, Nigeria government that taxes everything to the water you drink, your live isn't secure or safe as bandits are given more privilege than you (we have bandits empowerment program), any day we get constant 5 hours light a day without blinking, we go for thanksgiving, eggs are now luxury to the average Nigerian, any body seen killing live fowl for consumption is a suspect (except during seasonal celebration).

It's because of this income disparity that you now need a leveller which is the minimum wage per hour,per week or per month (which ever duration you choose). The minimum wage decides what the lowest working class of the citizens would get per hour or month etc. This is between $1,160-$2,704 per month in US depending on state (that is equivalent of about 1.7 million naira to 4 million naira per month minimum wage in US). (Minimum wage per hour in US is between $7.25 to $17.5 per hour or $290 to $780 per week depending on the state, but no state is below $7.25). Now compare this to Nigeria's #80,000 per month minimum wage. You'd see that 1kg of Chicken in the US is way cheaper for it's citizens compared to 1kg of Chicken in Nigeria.

A kilo of fresh killed broiler is sold for #4200 from farmers to frozen food dealers in ekiti. When it gets to them, they then fix their price.

Relying solely on importation of poultry of all items is a NO NO, the credible quoted prices of the locally produced poultry is fair enough. The poultry produced in Nigeria are way more healthier than the preservative- laden imported frozen poultry.

The poultry produced in Nigeria is a match for the poultry branded "free range" in Europe and America, these are not as cheap as you quoted.

There is no stable electricity in Nigeria that's is the main reason, frozen chicken can be stored for a long time before it expires, but because we don't have light that is the reason why the price always sky rocket, it's not only chicken, fish also faces this same issue, even cow meat too,
