2027 Elections: ₦1 Trillion For INEC — For What Exactly? by Babatunjo(op):
₦1 trillion for INEC ahead of the 2027 elections.

Let’s be honest: this money won’t just conduct elections. A large chunk will be funneled through INEC into political operatives, party machinery, and contractors for... ballot papers, ballot boxes, logistics, “security” . Each line item runs into hundreds of millions.

This is 2026, not 1999.

Before releasing ₦1 trillion, there must be real accountability:

- The funds should be publicly trackable in real time by Nigerians on their phones.
- Blockchain-based transparency systems already exist and can be built and integrated in under a month.
- Every contract, vendor, payment, and timeline should be visible... no black boxes.
- Reduce physical logistics that enable fraud; technology should shrink costs, not explode them.
- Independent audits before, during, and after elections should be mandatory, not optional.

If INEC truly wants credibility, transparency shouldn’t be feared... it should be demanded.

₦1 trillion without radical transparency is not an election budget.
It’s a loot framework with voting added as decoration.

There's no plan for accountability to start with. If things are electronically done, they wouldn't be need for padding sums to be re-looted by cronies and godsons..

That’s the madness: public money treated as private war chest.
Until citizens force transparency and consequences, elections will remain a business model.. not a democratic process.

The system is rigged so that it revolves around looters, godsons, etc.. and that's why the wannabe godfather of Rivers wants someone loyal to him to keep making his bank accounts remain in their third trimester.

Honestly, is there really a future for this country for the average Nigerian?

Individuals will still make it.. through hustle, luck, or japa/escape. But Nigeria as a country, in the true sense of the word, is finished.

The system is built for looters and politicians, not citizens.

What we have now is just a place people survive in, not a nation that works for its people.
