Two Nigerians Arrested With MDMA Worth ₦32 Million In Tolichowki, India by Peterobiisathie(op): 9:53pm On Jan 09
The Hyderabad-Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) arrested two Nigerian nationals for allegedly supplying synthetic drugs and seized 150 grams of MDMA valued at about ₹20 lakh during a joint operation with the Tolichowki police on January 8.

The accused were identified as Chidi Ezeh, 42, also known as Nageshwaran, and Obasi James Victor, 38, both residents of New Delhi and natives of Nigeria. The MDMA was recovered from the possession of Chidi Ezeh within the Tolichowki police station limits.

Police said Chidi Ezeh entered India through IGI Airport, New Delhi, on March 18, 2014, on a medical attendant visa which expired in May 2014. His passport and visa had since lapsed. He was earlier arrested in Hyderabad in a narcotics case involving cocaine and MDMA and later moved to Delhi, where he allegedly procured Indian identity documents including Aadhaar, PAN and a driving licence using a false name. Investigators said he sourced cocaine and MDMA from a Nigerian national based in Delhi and supplied drugs to peddlers in Hyderabad, Bengaluru and New Delhi.

“During the present operation, we seized MDMA along with a mobile phone, Aadhaar card, PAN card, Indian driving licence, vehicle registration certificate and bank cards from Chidi Ezeh. He is an inter-State supplier who allegedly coordinated orders through WhatsApp and arranged hand to hand deliveries, either personally or through Obasi James Victor,” said an officer from the wing.

Obasi James Victor entered India on a tourist visa and arrived at Mumbai airport on December 31, 2011. His passport and visa had expired. Police said he initially engaged in cloth exports and later ran a restaurant in Delhi. He was residing in the same building as Chidi Ezeh and was allegedly assisting him in drug distribution.

Nigeria has become an international talking point, not because of innovation or diplomacy, but thanks to a certain breed of citizens who want to outpace Dangote before their 25th birthday, without the inconvenience of education, discipline, or legal work.

In their frantic quest for instant billionaire status, they plunge headfirst into every imaginable transnational crime, even when the odds of success are slimmer than one percent.

The irony is exquisite. These same individuals insist they were “forced” into crime because the Nigerian government failed to support their dreams. One is tempted to ask, what dreams exactly? The kind that can’t survive a simple spelling test? Or the ones conceived by someone who has mastered neither a skill nor a trade, yet feels entitled to global wealth?

Now, if Nigeria truly failed you, what excuse do you have for committing crimes in countries with functioning governance, stable institutions, and working systems? Did bad governance also stow away in your luggage? Even more fascinating is how these criminal cases seem to cluster around the same people of one culture of shortcuts and poor choices.

The problem is not Nigeria. The problem is the delusion that success must be stolen, rushed, and achieved without effort, while blaming everyone else for the consequences.

It’s good to see the police taking action, but this also shows how drug trafficking is still a big issue here. We need better education and stronger community efforts so young people aren’t drawn into this in the first place. Arrests are one thing, but prevention and support for rehabilitation matter just as much.

Very well said Brother, very well said.
Accountability is not their forte. Blame everyone except themselves for the effect of their own actions/inaction.
4 weeks in Delhi, I didn't see any police man with guns until I was returning when "our brothers" were escorted into the waiting area of the airport by several heavily armed men. I have never felt so ashamed.
