The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has said the presence of Mr. Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) has strengthened the party’s confidence nationwide.

Prof. Festus Arunaye, the ADC national member, Membership Revalidation, Mobilization and Registration Committee (MRMRC), stated this during the inauguration of the 10-member Delta State committee on membership registration on Friday in Asaba.

Arunaye said Peter Obi brought integrity, discipline, and strong economic understanding to the coalition, asserting that the former Anambra State governor had brought excellence to the ADC.

The party chieftain stated: “Peter Obi is a man of integrity. He is a man that knows the running of an economy that is above average. Therefore, such a personality joining the coalition has given us, as a Mathematician, I don’t easily give people A, an A, Excellent position.

Some people are panicky now, they are sick now because Obi has joined us. He also stated that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar supports a free, fair, and credible primary process and believes in collective victory, making the ADC a party to beat in the coming general elections.

This defection will only be a good one...if the power brokers in ADC drop their personal ambitions and support Peter Obi.

If they refused to drop their ambition and enters the ring with Peter Obi...Peter Obi will lose the primaries, because, I doubt he can play the primaries dirty games against war chested political gladiators like Atiku and Ameachi..
The only thing that can save him is for consensus to give him the ticket, without primary.

It took coalition to unseat PDP, that's why I believe it will also take coalition to unseat APC. If ADC doesn't get it right in 2027, then we're in for a long ride with APC

Moderate Muslim is actually a factor against him. Muslims don't rate him - I've found this out from interacting with Northern Muslims. Others (who are religion-conscious) don't rate him either, since they see him as a Muslim.

Tinubu will complete his 8years. All politicians, including Atiku and Obi, already know this.
They are just trying to remain relevant till 2031, when they stand a real chance.

Don’t get it twisted man. Let me give you a scenario. If an election is contested in Bauchi or Jigawa state today between the trio of BAT, AA, PO. BAT will get around 25%+, AA around 60+% and PO less than 5%.
If AA doesn’t contest, BAT will get around 90% and Obi less than 10%.

Let’s move to south east. If the trio contest in IMO for example, BAT will get around 10% Atiku around 5% and Obi more than 80%. If Obi doesn’t contest, BAT will get around 30% and Atiku more than 60%.
As a political analyst, which would you prefer to contest against Tinubu

ADC is not a coalition.
A coalition is made up of political parties like in 2015.

What you have now is a group of individuals from different parties
